Matt Utai was one of the best wingers in the game 10 years ago but sudden became barely 1st grade standard and ended up playing for the mighty Auburn Warriors when he was in his mid-late 20's because teams became more tactical with their kicking. Burt and Turner were on borrowed time these last few years in any case.
Nabuli is 6'5, well over 100kg and quick, in the 50's there weren't any raw natural specimens like him because the game had such a small talent pool to choose from and there weren't any pacific islanders. The game back then was slower, less tactical, and the players smaller and less athletic, I know it's a hypothetical but you do the maths.

True, I will bring in another comparison that may illustrate your point.
Imagine if the great Margaret court was to play Serena Williams, I'm guessing 6 - 0 6 - 0 Williams. Williams wouldn't break a sweat, court would be lucky to win a point.

These dinosaurs that live in the past ignore all the facts, their lucky many of them have sponged off the game for so long as selectors, board members, etc.

That doesn't illustrate anything as you used f**king tennis.

In any rate you can't just compare era to era as you are doing. If Court was playing today she would have all the modern training techniques, full time methods and everything else that come's with modern sport.

To look at the 60s and say 'those guys would't even make first grade today' is completely idiotic as back then they trained twice a week while if they played today they would have full access to everything modern players do.
