Meanwhile his golden child, passed balls over the sideline, dropped passes & missed tackles stayed on for 80 minutes to humiliate himself again.
There should be a public explanataion by Gould right now, to explain to NSW fans, why the players were rotated so poorly. An apology to Sharks fans why we had to lose a player last weekend & an explanation to Melbourne fans for why Scott Hill could not have done what those 2 incompetent Roosters halves did tonight.

I think Robbie Kearns hit the nail on the head when he said the Fittler selection reeked of publicity stunt.

Let's face it, he's a couple of years beyond his best, has been playing average for the Rooters and, even in his prime, is not someone who could lay claim to having been a player who dominated at Origin level.

No denying he was a very good player, but I don't think he's ever done anything remotely near being counted as an immortal.

As such, why the f*** would you call him out of retirement to "save" us?

Surely you'd play Scott Hill or Braith Anasta ahead of him.

Finch was slected as 5th choice so you can't blame him. Fittler did some good things and I'd never write him off, he'll come back for the real fairy tale in game III now, then he'll go on to lead the Roosters to win the GF.

The Gidley/Tahu combo just wasn't used enough. Bloody second rowers in the backline. The second rowers were great, they just got in the way a few times when raids down the fringes looked on.
