Gould's Theory proves to be wrong

I am sure all of you have heard his theory that teams need "big outside backs" to do well in this competition. Gould has gone on and on and on about it since origin.
Well last time i looked Matt Sing, Ty Williams, Matt Bowen, Brett Hodsgon, and Daniel Fitzhenry were all "small" players and they are all playing in the GF.
Elford, Hannay and Bowman are slightly bigger players.

Players that he creams his pants over like Ben Smith, Gasnier, Cooper, Grothe, and Tahu are all downing Crown Lagers.
I am not saying thay those bigger players are bad, not at all...just saying thay i became sick of listening to his crap about big players and those players are now not there.

hehe - what you need to win the premiership is very good players in very good form... I've never understood Gould's carry-on, Cooper for example is not a giant... And none of the players he raves about are in the class (size-wise) of the old Qld partnership of Meninga and Close...

I try to ignore what Gould says but at the same time absorb his passion about the game.

It is a difficult juggling act but if you can get it down pat he is quite good to listen to

As it happens, neither the Dragons nor Eels were at their best on the weekend, for reasons I'd prefer to forget. One poor weekend, however, is not enough to dismiss a theory which has been spot on for much of the year.

Haven't seen him in that context :shock:

They're all big guys, just as far as centres go I was not under the impression that Gasnier and Cooper were abnormally large - I'd have thought Cooper was somewhere around 90-95kg?
