Fair enough. I agree that we should have kicked to the corners. The rot started from there in my opinion. I could be overstating it but I think it was a massive leg up to them.

Yep, merkins whinging about tactics miss the fact that Penrith's middle defenders are just better than every other team's. That's the difference between them and their opposition every week. Two of those clubs weren't playin' tonight
And the third had a slower average play the ball than we did.
It isn't the ruck that won the game, it's the dominance in first up contact, and getting numbers in the tackle.
That earned them the time in the ruck.
No I think we’re fine with the ball in hand. Pretty sure we’re top 2 in metres gained and post contact metres. It’s limiting the opposition yardage that’s a huge weakness.Like chase the collision?
They’ll be weaker next year without those two. Surely you agree with that. Their best NSW cup player is coming to us. I think hooker is the most influential position in the spine behind the half back and I’m not sure who they’re replacing API with. I think you’re overestimating the quality of Reggie’s.They won every f**ken grade in a canter. They’ll be fine.
That's kind of what I mean by owerawed by the occasion...I think our game plan was poor. We knew they would be relentless, we should have kicked for the sidelines and merkined our way through the game. I didn't even see a shove or a squirrel grip. They had our measure and knew it. We did nothing to unsettle their rhythm apart from a dumb kick on the first play.
Chase the collision is about defence isn’t it?No I think we’re fine with the ball in hand. Pretty sure we’re top 2 in metres gained and post contact metres. It’s limiting the opposition yardage that’s a huge weakness.
We were the 8th best defensive team in the comp and it was shown tonight. No I think we’re fine with the ball in hand. Pretty sure we’re top 2 in metres gained and post contact metres. It’s limiting the opposition yardage that’s a huge weakness.
Over 200m average for the year. Get him and you just need a bunch of lightweight middles who chase the collision in defence.People want to buy more forwards whilst I have been saying all year that we should give To'o a blank cheque.
Maybe slightly weaker but I still expect them to be the best team. Who’s going to beat them? They’ll be weaker next year without those two. Surely you agree with that. They are that much better than everyone else that if they play their best it doesn't matter what their opponents do.I don’t believe I did suggest that to be fair. We could have done some things better but we were certainly up for it. None of it would have mattered. The Panthers were ruthless and when they play like that no-one can beat them.

It was damn frustrating watching Moses repeatedly kick to him and watching them start their sets on the 35m like every time.Over 200m average for the year. Get him and you just need a bunch of lightweight middles who chase the collision in defence.
Best squad in the comp by some margin. Heavy favourites to make it 3 in a row next year.
Well said. The effort at the back end of the game against the Cowboys surprised me. Tonight, less so.We were the 8th best defensive team in the comp and it was shown tonight.
You're probably right. But the Panthers weren't exactly playing the merkin game either. They out skilled us.We are far too nice, nice guys win nothing.
Soni Luke, reggies hooker... Tongan national rep. They’ll be weaker next year without those two. Surely you agree with that. Their best NSW cup player is coming to us. Too many power forwards not enough toilers. No I think we’re fine with the ball in hand. Pretty sure we’re top 2 in metres gained and post contact metres. It’s limiting the opposition yardage that’s a huge weakness.
Our wing options really are as weak as piss - but so important in the modern game.Over 200m average for the year. Get him and you just need a bunch of lightweight middles who chase the collision in defence.
