We weren't overawed, we were beaten by a well drilled superior team. No excuses, even allowing for the epic effort from last week.

We got slaughtered. Never looked in the game. Its been a very up and down season. But we never ever had that much consistency. A nice run towards the end of the season and last week was a great win.

Back to the drawing board now. It is hard to know where we head in my eyes. We saw what these faster more agile forwards done to us. It was a brutal bashing to our bigger men.
Panthers defense crushed us. Sad end to a solid season.

I thought kicking on the first tackle on our first attacking opportunity was absolute insanity. Penrith would have never done that as they know the game is based on possession and patience with the ball building pressure which leads to fatigue. From that set we hardly saw the ball for 15 minutes. Id was a dumb ploy from the bushie. It was a panic play
Who made the decision?

How do we get them off their gameplan? ... their gameplan is belt the f**k out of the other team in defense and dominate. First man in smashes and 2 more pile. They win by strength and fitness.
Have to wear them down by running good angles and offloading. Didn’t do that (or weren’t allowed to) tonight.

It was damn frustrating watching Moses repeatedly kick to him and watching them start their sets on the 35m like every time.
Yeah because if you don't kick to him he's not going to get the ball. He made 189 metres not from kick returns ffs. Your right side kicker kicks to the opposition left side. That's just how it works under pressure. Cleary kicked mostly to Sivo, who is safer and makes more metres than Blake. I'm sure he would've preferred to kick to Blake, but luckily it didn't matter in the end, just like it didn't matter for us.

We were motivated but outclassed. Let's just all admit that and move on.

Yeah we where blown out of the water. For us to win we had to score first and had to hope Penrith where off.
Who knows had Dylan's kicks to Moses come off and Sivo scored and Kikaus obstructiom play was given NO TRY. Maybe its closer and momentum is different. But for us to win all the little things had to go our way. They didn't.
I feel Penrith are so far superior to any side currently while we are about a similar level to many other top 8 sides.

They’ll be weaker next year without those two. Surely you agree with that. Their best NSW cup player is coming to us. I think hooker is the most influential position in the spine behind the half back and I’m not sure who they’re replacing API with. I think you’re overestimating the quality of Reggie’s.
I dont know if hopgood is their best reggies player - he is one of the better ones. But their reggies hooker is very good. Api is very good but I dont think they will get set back massively.

The problem is exacerbated in games like tonight when a team is dominating field position and has an excellent kick chase. Sivo needs to pull his finger out.
It's what happens when we find ourselves to be continually running it out from inside the red zone. Sivo was no more at fault than any other merkin in a blue and gold jersey.

Yep, merkins whinging about tactics miss the fact that Penrith's middle defenders are just better than every other team's. That's the difference between them and their opposition every week.

Their line speed crushed us. We got belted in defense. Struggled to make 30mtrs every set. Where do you see us moving forward?

That sounds like looooser talk. Is that the game plan that BA gave the lads in your opinion?

Maybe we should opt for a new 5/8th that is world class (Munster) and let one of our halves leave.
