Doyen this is a brilliant post from a tough wise man that you are..................

I especially love the last 2 lines of your post!!!

I loved hearing some of those Cricket stories you had on here the other year....

    Plus what you have overcome....

I wouldn't mind a refresher on some of that stuff if you don't mind???

Also I hate the stereotype that males shouldn't show their emotions and that we just need to be as hard as nails and not let anything show.........................

Yep, and not a word of a lie either, I try to spread the good word at every opportunity but I sometimes cop some flak for having faith..........oh well.........lol.

I'm not a religious guy, so of course I find it hard to believe but there's no need to diss people's faith. It can be a reason to live for a lot of people so I'm cool with that.

I'm not a religious person either but I see myself as a spiritual one who believes in a hereafter--whatever that may be!!

I'm not a religious person either (my only religion is Souths lol) but I must say, I do believe in god and I will say a prayer from time to time.

I went to a Catholic Primary school as a kid and I am thankful to be exposed to and to have got to learn that stuff, even if it was at a very basic level.

You are aware of what I'm going through at the moment R20.

But there was another time when I was 15, I had a severe case of appendicitis, and I mean severe. At first I thought it was just your classic tummy bug that would pass in a few days but when the pain got so severe and would sometimes go down to my groin area, we knew something was up. Went to the Hospital and had to get operated on right away because it had actually burst and without a word of a lie, the doctor said if I was a day or two later, there wouldn't have been much they could do for me so that was lucky.

Aparently, during the operation, they had to pull all my guts out and clean them no joke. How crazy is that?! (Sorry if you didn't want to hear that). It was a scary time but probably nothing compared to what some of you guys have been through.

Doesn't work like that in New Zealand. The priests are more into sheep

I'm not so sure about that, we all have our own trials.

Hey, who's your tip for the Bathurst 1000?

    True, I guess.

Man, I can't wait for Bathurst! Not long now. It's always hard to pick who's gonna win because there's so many variables. In a way, form from other races is kind of irrelevant because the mountain is so unforgiving and you need so much luck on your side. However, if I had to pick, I'd say McLaughlin/Premat, Van Gisbergen/Campbell or Lowndes/Richards, I have a good feeling about them.

I know I'm being a bit biased to the Kiwi lads for some of my picks but that's just the feeling I have. Who knows what'll happen tbh.

    What do you reckon?

McLaughlin, Whincup, Mostert, Giz..........co-drivers will have a big impact, can't discount Frosty, Lowndes, Coulthard, Waters, Reynolds, Tander.
