Of the Grand Finals mentioned in the poll, as much as I love the 2001 GF, I voted for Penrith's 2003 GF win because it was a better spectacle I believe.

Tha being said, if the poll included all Grand Finals and not just the ones since it became the NRL in 1998, my vote would go to the 1997 Grand Final. In my mind, there is no other that rates that high.

I can't comment on the 1989 GF as I was only 8 at the time and I can't remember seeing it.

My personal thoughts:

1998 - Could barely remember this final, but was this the season when the Dogs performed four miracles in a row to make the grand final?

1999 - was cheering for Melbourne, because of the Kiwi connection, switched off when they fell 14-0 down, what a big mistake that turned out to be

2000 - last day grand-final - watched this one and cheered the Chooks

2001 - first night final, was pretty late for me, but I can remember the wonderful first-half from Newcastle

2002 - chuffed to see our boys in the final, disappointing to see us lose like that, but we were in the game

2003 - felt so happy for Penrith - they were such an exciting team that season

2004 - Bulldogs are the lesser of two evils to me

2005 - weird kind of grand final - Wests Tigers were a new club, NQ were only around for 10 years

2006 - sad for Melbourne, as they were the best team all season. Most of Brisbane's points came from refereeing blunders too

89 was the best. There were just so many game changing moments. Both teams threw everything they had at each other. Balmain had so many chances to win it but it was not there day. In the end Canberra made the most of their opportunities.

definately the ones that saw a champion side with plenty of internationals raise the cup; 1998; 11 internationals. 2000; 10 internationals. 2006; 10 internationals.
