This is a thread where you get to name your favourite ever Eels player, but with one exception ... you can't go the obvious choices.

Forget the Sterlings, Kennys and Ellas - I want you to name the guy that you were a huge fan of but didn't receive the accolades you believe they deserved. Or perhaps it's someone with limited ability that achieved as much as they could ever have hoped for due to effort.

You see, when i'm hungover this is what I do - start useless but entertaining threads.

Anyway, mine is David Woods - a freakish talent that would have played for Australia had it not been for injuries and the fact that he was surrounded by 12 spastics each week.

That is all.

I know you meant nothing by it.. But mate please don't call people spastics..There but for the grace of God go you or I...or one of our kids..or one of our grandkids.
People who dedicate their time caring for spastic children are the toughest people on this earth..If the football Club had people as tough as them there would be no problems..the team would be premiers every year..

Mick Delroy.

He scored, the greatest ever individual try I have ever seen, in any grade.
He always was a pleasure to watch. So unpredictable.

And I know that you have best intentions with that post Pete, but you do need to remove that umbrella from your arse.

I mean that in the nicest possible way :D

I'll agree with Suity,

Mick Delroy.

I meet him and he only live about 500 metres up the Road from me, Came from my Local club (Lalor Park Kookaburra's(Just Like Brett Delaney, Just Like Feleti Mateo)).

The Local oval is named for a bloke that trained him for a While, Trevor Cavanagh, who was an absoulte Gentlemen among men.

Really - did they manage to sew his head back on to his body after Farrar removed it in 86?

Phil Mann. I used to think he was super human as a kid back in the days of Cumberland Oval.

As a little fella he looked 12 foot tall !
