Which Billy Slater is everybody talking about here?

This one who cost Australia a world cup?

or this one in SOO?

Or the guy sliding in with his boots in the first two tries in this?

Or the guy who doesn't move when Wolfman injuries his neck???

Some of those guys didn't have the 'win at any cost' attitude some of the modern players have. Different eras, different requirements and skill sets. As a Manly fan I would take Stewart over any other the club has had. But Eadie was magnificent in his day. Ridge also had his moments predominately in defense and goal kicking. Manly's record in the 70's and early 80's speaks volumes about Eadie.

I preferred Brasher over Mullins. Neither should be on this list. Lockyer shouldn't either. He played a long time at 5/8. Inglis also falls into this issue in reverse. It is hard to evaluate a player entirely at one position when they didn't only play in that role. I'm not suggesting either are/were not quality FB's though.

If 2009/10 hadn't happened to Stewart, he would be right there. His scoring ability is unbelievable, and his defense and security catching are top notch. Slater injects himself a bit more into the line when he runs. He has also played a lot more footy. Stewart has better passing and catching ability, but doesn't have the same foot work Slater has. Mini is in the same situation as Stewart. Injury probably prevented him reaching his full potential. A quality fullback and stood up for the chooks for a long career. He could hold the most games record easily if not for his back problems in the middle of his career.

I'll be keen to see how injury impact Slater next season.

Clive Churchill would have made the fullback role a running role in attack, it doesn't seem as if having the fullback as another five-eighth didn't come in until about 2008, with Slater. However in my opinion, taking attack and defence into consideration Greg Inglis I would have as my fullback of all time.

I'd say that Darius Boyd was a greater proponent of the ball playing fullback than Slater.

The voting has Langlands narrowly ahead of Billy Slater, but both are far ahead of Jarryd Hayne, who is just pipping Clive Churchill for third place.

Langlands was the best I've seen but a struck match between him and Slater. I'm surprised that anyone who saw Churchill and Puig-Albert play can use a computer to vote. Churchill must have been a gun from what you hear and the little bit of footage.
I'd have anyone on that list in my team, Mullins, Jack , Inglis
- all game changers.
