Goodfellas: As close to a certainty as possible when it comes to progression. A classic.

Der Untergang (Downfall): Excellent German film about Hitler's last few days in power. Doomed

Star Wars VI: Return of the Jedi: The Ewok battle almost certainly won it a lot of merchandising. Fitting end to a classic trilogy.

Snatch: Guy Ritchie's tour de force. A classic bit of English comedy.

Philadelphia: Hanks swept all comers in the Oscar race with his touching portrayal of an Aids patient in this dramatic, wrenching film.

goodfellas ... the way scorcese filmed the scene where henry and karen walk into the club through the back as one continuous shot was cinematic perfection ... plus it's my 2nd favourite film ever

That said I've got to watch downfall at some point. With all the Hitler youtube clips that were doing the rounds based on that movie, it makes me want to watch.

the thing i most like about goodfellas is the climax where henry gets busted by the police.

the whole..wacked out..rushing around with the helicopter flying over head sequence was great.

Goodfellas, as expected, wins this at a canter. Return of the Jedi is similarly untroubled as second place.
