NRL star Greg Bird and girlfriend Katie Milligan - who was allegedly glassed in the face by the Sharks player - are believed to be seeking a court's permission to see each other again.
It is understood an application being made today in Downing Centre Local Court is to vary terms of an apprehended violence order that prohibits Bird from contacting his 24-year-old American love interest either directly or through a third party.
Milligan was seen entering the court this morning for her first encounter with a court over the whole affair, since being released from hospital.
She appeared to have darkened her formerly blonde hair and the infamous scars caused by the incident were less vivid.
In pictures: Kate's wounds and the Milligan-bird Facebook photos
The whole sorry saga: Greg Bird under pressure
It is believed a complete withdrawal of the AVO may also be sought but that is unconfirmed as yet.
It is understood police will oppose the application.
The interim AVO was granted by Sutherland Local Court late last month shortly after Ms Milligan's hospitalisation for glassing injuries to her left eye area.
The injury alleged was inflicted by Bird, 24, at his Cronulla apartment and Bird has been charged with maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm.
He is currently on bail and has been dropped by the Sharks - although, as seen from our inset picture above, he was enjoying beers in a corporate box watching them play the Canberra Raiders on Saturday.
Ms Milligan has told The Daily Telegraph that she still loves Bird and plans to reunite with him

That "lifelong" damage doesn't look as bad now does it?
The GBH charge doesn't look too convincing right now... Assault maybe, but GBH?

Because you get d*ckheads out there that put an AVO out on their partner, then 2 weeks later, they're all sweet, then they move back in together, and alas, the same sh*t happens again. Also, it would be the same a jail sentence, just because the victim forgives them, or changes their mind once the charge has been laid and doesn't wanna charge em, its not gonna get em out of prison, it's the same principle with an AVO.

Knowing bureaucracy it would be incorrect paper work, form 1234567 part 56789 section 55556c was used instead of form 1234567 part 56789 section 55556d, of course the former would have been superceded by the later.

Well I see it as similar as having to wear a seatbelt or helmet. Some reckon it infringes their basic civil liberties but the government steps in an takes away our right to make a choice. And the government was elected democratically.

That's why Greg Bird should have been allowed to play....The biggest media beat up..Which had you believe that her injuries were so bad that she could lose her eye...We lose a player, while the Broncos are allowed to play on alleged rape.
f**king Hyprocrisy...

Interesting how the Qld police minister ripped into Bird when he was arrested for doing nothing but she defends these guys unreservedly despite not knowing any of the facts in either case.

According to RLW either way..guilty/not guilty Bird wont be playing for the Sharks again. The scab Orr is shopping him around to rival clubs. The reception is lukewarm..
which may change if found not guilty.

I was thinking the same thing.Im sure the Bronc's coaching staff appreciate the fact they have a one-eyed Bronco supporter working in that capacity, if this was any other team, the facts would have come out straight away via a leak to the media, players would have probably been dropped, but in this case, she defends them and the Bronco's, its convenient hey?

WATCH THE VIDEO

How the fug is he still banned?

Because we are a softcock club, we just witnessed how a club who knows how to win premierships handles these situations.

The irony is in one case a complaint is withdrawn and investigation dropped, the reason why we will never know, in the other case a complaint was never made and we have the australian no.6 sitting in a box when we need him on the field.

f**k RLW.

theres a comp up for grabs here. we dont get many shots at these.

get him in training. get him fired. get him on the field in place of buster. better yet, get em both in, Simmo to woop woop and Anderson to the centres.

f**k the Media. its about the prize at the end.

and if he's found guilty..so what. Pommeroy might get found guilty for his moshpit antics at Korn.

we didnt suspend him on the spot

anyone know zappia's email, i think we should all fire off emails supporting his reinstatement on the back of how a professional club handles these incidents.

With the way the Broncos dealt with there players, us Cronulla fans should demand the reinstatement of Bird....
