Souths don't win that Premiership without S.Burgess.

Yes Inglis was 'a' key player as were others, but Burgess was the most important cog or 'the' key player in that side the year they won the comp. He goes off in the GF they lose.

Bullshit. Souths don't win a premiership without Inglis pure and simple.
When Sam announced his signing witg rugby Union it was stilla 50/50 whether he would be considered a flop. His first years with souths were plagued with injuries, suspensions., inconsistency and so many dropped balls. Halfway through 2014 many souths fans wanted him gone early. Then he had a good back half of 2014 and people forgot the years of frustration from sam.
Inglis first year with souths was ok, he took a while to settle, it was a young team he came into. Then 2012 we shifted him to fullback and the whole dynamic of the team shifted overnight. We suddenly had a dangerous player who could strike fear in the opposition. He would bring the ball back with power that it allowed guys like the burgess brothers to play against defence already on the back foot. Teams were sometimes so worried about Inglis that they over defended him and it gave others a chance to shine. He was consistently brilliant from 2012-2014 and it was Inglis not burgess who was talked up as the best player in the game at the time and led to this 'is he a future immortal' talk. If you were given a choice between burgess and inglis in the 2014 grand final then Inglis was a no brainer.
Souths are going poor this year and it's down to Inglis poor form. He is the key. If Burgess was the key you'd think we'd be winning games easily considering the bloke is making 160m+ per game and 40 odd tackles. But he isn't the key. He is great forward but he is useless unless you have great players around him.
We still make the finals in 2015, inglis is our best player by far. for most of the year we are in the top 4 before fading at the end of the year. You include burgess back into the team and suddenly we would be spoon chances if it wasn't for newcastle.

Come on Diego it pains you when people say anything good about Sammy I'm not even sure why.
Luckily it's not happening very often this season.

Sam is a good forward. At his best he can be considered one of the best middle forwards in the game. But he can be massively overrated. He isn't on the same level as guys like cronk, Thurston, smith, inglis (at his peak), Slater or lockyer, johns, fittler before them etc. Because he is considered on the same level as these guys it drives up his contract value to the point that we had to get rid of a lot of players to fit him in, and we are trying to build a team around him when he isn't the right player to do so.

At his peak he was the perfect centre. That lasted a good few years.

The amount of weight he has put on has hurt him, but he is the biggest freak I've seen on a footy field in terms of natural talent and athleticism. Only Hayne comes close.

History will remember him fondly and rightly so. He is clearly busted right now.

Its Karma.

- Renege on a deal because airplanes don't fly in the rain
- play for QLD because they were better than where you are supposed to play for
- stop girl friend from "self harm"

He is terrible and has been for a while, only his laziness and lack of involvement has hidden the truth.

don't send him to the bears, that would be horrible to the bears, send him to manly he whinges enough to become a great manly stalwart

Souths don't a Premiership without GI, Big Sam, Reynolds or Luke. They were all equally important but in thw run home Sam was easily Souths best.

Never fear, Souths are playing us (Parra) next round and we have a habit of playing teams and players back into form. I predict an 9 or 10 rlw rating for Inglis.

Its like saying Cowboys don't win a premiership without Thurston, granville, Morgan, coote. They were all equally important but granville was easily Cowboys best in those last few games.

To me his career is quite similar to Rafa Nadal. Champion player but is now playing busted.

I don't see a future for him at fullback anymore. And tonight he got destroyed by Moses when defending out wide. Will be a shame if he is remembered this way.

To be fair Moses would destroy most players in his current form.

We all think he's busted but watch him cut NSW to ribbons in Origin 2.

Broncos and Ivan Henjak were a mess at the time he reneged on his deal. That was karma on broncos who seem to have an unfair advantage in the player market.
. NSW at the time seemed not to give indigenous players a fair go. When he debuted for QLD they had not won an origin series for almost 5 years.

You have to be retired a few years before they will consider you for Immortal status.

Mal Meninga is next cab off the rank. Thurston is already well ahead of Inglis as a candidate and will likely retire before Inglis.

In any case Inglis may never make it. He needs at least one brilliant season before he will be ever considered.

One can argue that he has never been the best player on his own team (Storm or Souffs) let alone a future immortal. Great player but fair dinkum...
