Moggs form has been extremely good, both in defence and attack, his selection was throughly deserved, he was the best, most inform option QLD had on the wing, least season he was sh*te, he is in fact a sh*thouse centre, but he is a pretty good winger based on this years form, however ink is right, if you had to pick from inglis or mogg... its a no brainer

and adam mogg is the only option good and big enough to handle matty king

BTW Mogg has been in good form but to the fool who suggested being our best player was no achievement, take a long walk off a short peer you clown, alot of raiders are in fine form, Thompson, Tongue, Learoyd Lahrs, Hodgson, Mogg and yes, even Carney... and Smith and Schif are pretty much always f**king awesome :)

 @ NSW fans laughing at the selection.

The laughing, taunting and calls of "isn't there someone better?" was what we Queenslanders were doing re: Brett Finch in game 1. We should have known better, as the little punk became the hero.

Watch Mogg score the winning try to set up a decider now! :)

At least the only reason our 4th stringer (Finch) got picked was because everyone in front of him was injured. Can't say that for Qld!!!

is a good player and people on here are just stupid. They have picked a winger on the wing which can only help and he also has the size to be a danger, goodluck to mogg and hope he has a good game. congrats EGG MOGG lolll

well i'm as surprised as the next bloke about this selection

he is tallish, has good defence and is reasonably quick = good selection

but this is exactly the type of selection Queensland was renowned for in the old days ... and even moreso before SOO (pre 1980)

and it was amazing how often the guy from left field, the no-name, the unfashionable reserve grader played out of their skin ... I for one am disappointed we don't use this type of player more often ... they are generally so excited about their opportunity they go great ! (Rohan Hancock, Sam Backo are two that come to mind)

Finch kicked a field goal in game 1 after being bagged for a week ... whats the bet Mogg scores the winning try

Oink !

didn't see this one coming, I bet Mogg didn't either

"I was in Queensland's emerging side at the start of the year and I spoke to Mal yesterday and he said I was on standby.

"It wasn't a total shock (to be selected) in that respect but it's fantastic."

Morris confirmed Mogg was on standby but initially for Brisbane centre Justin Hodges, who has declared himself available to return from a torn hamstring.

mogg was also mentioned as a possible replacement in this morning's courier mail. the only people touting wesser as the likely replacement were the sydney media. goes to show they have no idea about any teams outside sydney.

Dubious selection, I admit I haven't seen much of him in action. Hope he fires up and goes alright. King is a cat anyway so he should be able to handle him.

He has improved out of site in the last six weeks. His defense in particular has been exceptional.

My immediate thought was "Oh great, another centre picked out of position, a-la Bell", but I'll take his good form and his playing on the wing under advisement fromt he Raiders fans
Same here, haven't got to watch a raiders game for a while, and thought Mogg's entire previous history was as a centre... Good luck to him, always good to reward people for good or consistent form I reckon, rather than rep spots being tied up for life and passed down the family.

Oh... and come on NSW! :D

Early Tip -

Mogg 2 tries and a Man of the match award

Correction: Two dropped bombs - leading to two Blues tries. Two missed tackles - leading to two more Blues tries. Three knock ons - leading to three scrums leading to two more Blues tries. And yes he'll be the Toad's BEST player for the night.

This is a weird seletion. Right up there with Adrian Brunker in game2 in 1992.

At least they picked a specialist winger and didn't try to put a fullback there.

It should be an interesting game. I think about the number of times players are expected to play sh*t and then end up having an absolute blinder, and frankly surprising everyone - Kite from game 1 comes to mind. I'm looking forward to watching Mogg out there.

i think most canberra fans are in shock, not because mogg doesn't deserve it, but that rep selectors actually took notice of the raiders. Most of the sydney media has probably never even heard of him.

People are right when they assume Egg is a centre more than a winger, especially because the last month or so in particular he has been playing centre for us - but he did play the majority of the start of the year on the wing from memory.

Its a bit early for some of the "knockers" to come and and bag the guy.
Just wait and watch the game first, or you could be eating a slice or two of humble pie...
