It's been such a good tournament so far I gotta say... Hope it continues...

Reason's simple: more goals. Average currently stands at 2.88/game. 2004 and 2008 were only 2.48/game. In fact the only Euro in the last 20 years to come close was 2000 (2.74/game).

In the last 4 years, thanks to Spain/Barca, we've seen a shift in Europe to positive, attacking football and this great Euro is a result of that. Teams with a negative and defensive mindset e.g. Greece have been punished.

That was a hard punishment for them... Being made to knock out the Russians and qualify to the quarter finals. Darn. ;-)

The reason that there are more goals is that defences are a bit rubbish in the comp. Plus Spain/Barca don't play positive attacking football, they play a passing game. This is often a backwards/sideways pass which is neither psoitive or attacking.

At least Gerrard has been good from Liverpool, very very good infact.

Im concerned Andy Carroll is doing a massive troll where he plays good for the last month of the season, plays well for England, Liverpool fans start spouting stuff about getting back in the top four then he and the rest of the squad play like spuds for 9 months. Hope im wrong!

Thats the hope. He just does enough to not get sold at the end of each year. Its an awesome skill to have.

Gerrard just needs to learn that when your the holding mid its your job to help control the game and not every pass has to be holywood. You are allowed to put your foot on the ball and pick a pass. Other than that though, he has been good.

I wonder who will be dropped for Rooney. From the first game i'd of said Young, but he played as a winger in the second game with two up top so you'd think it would be one of them two.

So Welbeck or Carroll. Both scored cracking goals against the Swedes, but who will partner Rooney?

I'd go with Welbeck as he offers a better all round game, and has played with Rooney a lot. Carroll can wait on the bench so if its all going wrong we can bring the big guy on and cause problems.

:D I clearly wrote that before the Russia game.

I agree that this has also contributed somewhat but generally speaking, teams have been more positive and more willing to take risks than in previous Euros. Italy against Spain was a great example. They could've parked the bus but they didn't.

Welbeck and co. are playing very well. I honestly wonder if Rooney will get a start in the next match...

UEFA disgraceful. Clear Ukraine goal denied. Typical England get the benefit of goal line clearances smh trolololol

Anti-France conspiracy to have them play Spain.

Ok, time to end the speculation once and for all, the ball did NOT cross the line, here's proof....
