QUEENSLAND ROAR enter the 2009 finals after their most successful home-and-away season in the Hyundai A-League. The Roar finished third on 36 points, one ladder position & five points better than 2007/08, the club's one and only previous season in the finals. The Roar are the only one of the top four teams to have defeated Premiers Melbourne Victory this season - winning 2-0 at Telstra Dome in Round 6.

CENTRAL COAST MARINERS have the most experienced squad in terms of players with Hyundai A-League finals experience. The Mariners have 14 players with Hyundai A-League finals experience, with a combined 63 finals appearances; this compares with 13 Queensland Roar players (37 finals appearances), 9 Adelaide United players (37 appearances) and 9 Melbourne Victory players (29 appearances).

HEAD-TO-HEAD RECORDS in all official competitions

All matches (played 12): Central Coast Mariners wins 2, Queensland Roar wins 4 (6 draws).
In Gosford (played 6): Central Coast Mariners wins 0, Queensland Roar wins 3 (3 draws).

Boring game and rubbish crowd.

Bit "card happy" towards one side don't you think? What the hell did Zullo do? And I can't see where the penalty was for Tiatto's second. He's definetly a man who won't take it laying down, love the spray he gave the ref. Deserved, i might add.

Both Zullo's and Tiatto's second challenge deserved cards. Tiatto got as much player as ball. He dived into it was, in Tiatto fashion, reckless.

Mariners are gone. Second half of the season has been poor from them. They actually kept Sydney alive for a top 4 spot for a lot longer then Sydney deserved. It really is a three horse race. I can see QLD winning the title away from home.

i know who ever wins the leg between adelaide and melbourne will host the g/f

however when qld finish the mariners they should host the loser over a 2 leg series ?

 Mariners. If they come back from 2-0 down, Queensland don't deserve to go any further.

Nah mate, if Qld hold on (which they should) then they'll host the loser of Melbourne-Adelaide in a one-off Prelim final.

If I wasn't getting slugged three baht a minute for internet I probably would have found the time to vote in that poll too, TT. QLD Roar continue kicking butt, damn Mitch Nichols is growing volumes as a player. I'm gonna be returning to Australia right in time to see the Roar qualifying for their first Grand Final (I hope).

Jobdog, the loser of the preliminary final will host the one-off game, not the winner of 3rd vs 4th.

This isnt an argument but merely a question.. how can he "dive into" a ball he has control over and is kicking away?

If that was the case, the winner would get two weeks off, could be a huge loss of momentum, which probably sees it better as a one-off.

Still need incentive for the top-two teams.
