Infact if you could mould Mullen And Walsh into one Player you would have a Johns clone.

Perhaps if we get them both really, really drunk, and lock them away in a room at Crowne Plaza? :-k

 You need to sack your uncle as your informer, the blokes on drugs.
I don't think this was the uncle's fault this time...actually, I bet this "uncle" doesn't even exist. Look at the post right above christopherdipsh*t's...was someone praising Joel Brown's most recent game. christopherderrrimamoron would've seen this and thought "hey, this guy reckons joel brown had a good game...hey, now i think joel brown had a good game". christopherknobjockey gets all his "knowledge" and "facts" from the opinions that people post here, hence why all his posts sound either very familiar (as in he's just repeating something that someone else said before), or very geniused (when he tries to put his "knowledge" and "facts" to use and come up with his own opinions).

Good article in today's Newcastle Herald about the halves dilemma. It only focused on the short term problem, but Polglase looks like he is a chance of moving from the wing to five-eighth. This would bring Carmont back into the run on side (apparently he was "rested", and not dropped, from last weeks match).

Smith isn't keen on Karawana as he isn't first grade material yet.

Brown is an option and Smith said that the best game he has ever seen from him was at halfback last year when he scored four tries (premier league). Going against Brown's selection in the halves is his ability to play the backrow and hooker- better suited to a bench spot.

Walsh and Bailey are also liked, but unavailable due to injury.

Kidley is "no chance" of being moved out of fullback. Isn't it great to see him not get shafted like in previous seasons where he would get put into a different position every second week. Smith has finally found him a home., and he loks to be staying there no matter what.

Polglase at 5/8? :-s
He actually played there for Souths a few times.

Did ok, but still he wouldnt be that much better than Abraham in that position.

Just when I was bemoaning Carmont being replaced by another useless player in Polglase, now they might both be in the team!

I really don't see Polglase as a 5/8th at all, but we'll see I guess.

Brown deserves a shot, he could be a revelation in the halves if given a chance I think.

But surely the fact that so many different players are being discussed highlights how badly we need another genuine playmaker at the club. It really shouldn't come down to a battle between 8 utility players. That's the kind of situation you expect after 2 or 3 injuries, but we have only lost Johns and been brutally exposed. Imagine when Mullen gets injured how much trouble we will be in. Abraham/Polglase halves combination? Oh dear...

But that is expected, because with Johns in the club, no other quality half would want to play with Newcastle because they would never get a look at the first grade side. Players like Kimmorley and Morris went to other clubs because they would have a better chance of playing first grade footy. I think we should be happy that we have a player like Mullen coming through at just the right time.

I've never seen Polglase play at five-eighth but does he have a solid passing game? Because i wouldn't expect his running game to be that strong. I still would favour Brown in that position.

Joel Brown is improving game by game. He has been outstanding for the last two games. Todd Hurrell and his brother might make a wonderful half, 5/8 combo too. I like their style a lot - big and powerful kids but very clever ball players.

Polglase at 5/8th isnt a bad option.

IN F**KING PREMIER LEAGUE. Come on he has no talent what so ever. I will be quiet the pissed off if he is playing 2nd reciever for us. Far out. Just give no.7 to Brown, 6 to Mullen, 13 to Abes and give Ryendelson and Carmont a smack on the bum and a fifty for the bus trip home. JEEEZZZ
