I have played Halo and it is really cool, the second one looks about the same, how can it be that much different to the first?

Halo is pretty ordinary when compared to other first person shooters on PC, but theres no denying that its by far the best fps on a console.

The game introduced first person shooters to a new audience whom had never played them on a pc before; once these people have played far better games on pc they will realise how overrated halo really is.

Not even close in my opinion... for MP yes, but in every other aspect chronicles of riddick is by far the best FPS on console.

That site is full of so much great information and legitimate arguments. Halo 2 is the best console shooter ever made, and one of the best shooters going around. If you don't believe it, play the game system link, it'll open your eyes.

Has anyone tried the mouse and KB converter for the XBOX? Coming from the PC to the XBOX for FPS games is a major pain in the proverbial.

Thats the point though isn't it? The 'system link'...Halo 2 is the best console Multiplayer shooter ever made... as for single player, well Metroid Prime both 1 and 2 are streaks ahead of HALO 2 and Chronicles of Riddick better than both! Then you have FarCry, DOOM 3 and Half Life 2 on PC... all of which make Halo 2 completely unplayable for me...
Sorry, but Halo 2 DID suck! It's got to be one of the most over rated and dissapointing games in recent memory...

The single player is an acquired taste, and one that I can't say I like. But every tuesday night we're up at boxxdin having massive 16 player games and its the most fun I've had with an FPS yet, and that includes the greats like Quake 3 and HL. as a multiplayer game it beats just about anything out there.

I realise this, but for those of us who don't have any interest in FPS multiplayer (which there obviously are a few considering Riddick was made with no MP component), Halo 2 is simply a peice of shit... Not even close to being worth the price of admission!
I don't really get peoples interest in multiplayer anyway... The only games that are fun like that are sports games like FIFA and NRL etc... To me the single player campeign in DOOM 3 was so chilling and captivating that I never even tried the MP aspect of it! Same with HL 2.
I don't know, I just don't get FPS MP... I just don't find it anywhere near as enjoyable as playing through an interesting, well designed story driven single player campeign... and Halo 2's is arguable one of the worst!

Lol ever played online games like bf1942, counterstrike, mohaa, cod, rtcw etc, multiplayer games which actually have an objective. Halo is just basically quake 3 death match or team death match with slightly improved graphics.

I've played halo on lan and it was awesome but compared to the many online fps shooters out there it sucks.

Multiplayer is what keeps the game alive months or years after the game has been released. Without the many multiplayer mods for half life the game would of been forgotton about and not as successful as it is now.

I used to be like you though with regards to playing fps online, i had always thought that shit was for computer geeks with no lives, but after jumping in an online multiplayer game of mohaa i loved it.
Escpecially when you get your mates on the same server as you.

Its funny cause you dont realise how crap you really are untill you play online against other players around the country.

I know what you mean, but I just can't get into it... I don't really have the patients for it to be honest and none of my mates would be up for anything but sports games before the footy...

To be fair I have and always will be a fan of deathmatch based FPS games, Quake 3 was like a gift from God in that regard, and yeah, while CS was good fun for a while, it was more of a diversion from deathmatch gaming rather than a new revolution in itself for me. Battlefield, RtCW and all those objective based games never really did much for me online, for me its all about the direct competition, and that's where Halo 2 shines, it's the best straight DM game since Q3A.

Riddick was revolutionary, and a great game though, for sure. Getting into DM games is tough, online can be pretty rough with lag, finding decent games and finding a group of decent players (unfortunately I'd say about 75% of people out there playing online are dickheads) is hard, but it's definitely worth it.
