They are copying us

Of course they are. Just like everyone copied the Storm some years ago.

Our golden era is winding down. We took advantage of gaps in the system (and spent a f**kload of money making lives better) but we will need to adapt

As a club and coaching staffs we will have to adapt. Each year will become more challenging, I believe. though as an organisiation this will happen.

I don't see it as being doom and gloom......but all aspects of our organisation are being 'hunted' so to speak.

This will show how apt that Ivan and crew are able to subtly adjust programs, training styles to each year.

I was fascinated to hear how Ivan decided this year to add more humor into his media work, and also into jersey presentations.
This type of forwards thinking gives me great hope for us being able to evolve and adjust, whilst performing well into the future.

You win back 2 back premierships you can crack a few jokes at everyone elses expense, Ivan hasn't really been stressed these past few years purely coz after the first one that monkey he has had on his back (the GF losses of warriors and panthers'20) are a distant memory, that won't haunt him, if anything it helped him learn to appreciate each of these GFs and overall seasons, he can relax crack open a tinny on a live conference, and talk shit openly

We should encourage any side to recruit from anywhere in the country as long as it builds our sport and gives hope to those young people in the bush that they also can make it.

Signing kids from regional areas is nothing new. We certainly didn't invent it. We've had some good ones come through recently which probably leads to a bit of bias from us.

Raiders have a good track record of bringing through country kids too and there are at least another dozen or so players at other teams from the last decade that have come from my area (Central West NSW). Guys like Will Kennedy, Josh Jackson, Jesse Ramien, Kotoni Staggs etc.

And there's been 4-5 in the Roosters system recently that have never progressed past NSW Cup from this area too (Jack Siejka and Harrison Muller) off the top of my head.

When I was U12s, there was a kid in our U13s side who had a deal with the Eels. He'd rock up in his Eels tracksuit and cool sunglasses every match. He was a f**king weapon too. Gave up footy before U15s, and ended up in rehab for alcohol and cocaine by age 17.

As a former GM of our junior footy once said to me, it’s great to win Ball or Matt’s , but you only need to develop one or two NRL players from the junior sides and the job has been done. Still disappointing results this season but no doubt there are a couple who will transition to better things.

NSW Cup had 4 guys that were SG Ball age last year and won, That is what the club needs over trophies I guess

I watched Harrison Hassett closely yesterday, I really worry about his lack of size. I know he is young, still growing but I’m not sure his body shape can grow out to 100 plus kegs which is what is needed for a back rower.

Yeah he is more the Martin mould. Decent defender, Runs hard but lacks size.
Luron on our bench in a few years will steamroll teams

John Sagaga much touted junior coming thru is rather small also although I thought he was really good yesterday.

It would be nice to have a 115 kg plus, athletic middle coming thru the ranks but doesn’t appear to be the case.

The Lemoto brothers are obviously our hopes going forward as far as big athletic forwards go.
