Only the two McLean brothers. Let's be honest about this we failed to make the finals in both competition. Changes need to be made otherwise we will be going back to the bad old days. As Kilkenny said the other day that we have no half's coming through any of the grades. Change is needed.
Young halves haven't had a reason to sign here for a while

And Edgar was injured for 3/4 losses.

Just those few alone help,

Depends what the club wants from the side, The last couple of years they have pulled the better guys to play higher grades.

Edgar is in Flegg this week, Jenson Tuaoi and Galuvao should both play some Flegg.

If they have 4 Ball guys transition into regular Flegg players. On the back of Hassett, Luron etc last year then that could be classed as a success.

Again is the team there to win comps or produce Quality players?

It was you that said the Ball side was stacked. Well you were wrong as we failed for the first time in over 20 years to make the finals.

What rubbish we had 2 players playing up a grade. Most clubs have at least 2 players or more playing up a grade or two.
We finished the season in twelfth place.

Correct they do, Only 1 club can win and it will be the side that has stayed injury free and full strength

Roosters came 1st and their 7 and 6 played every game.

We had 5 different halves combination in 9 rounds.

We had the joint Harold Matts players from last year. Edgar played 3 games - All wins

Casey McLean played none.

Again do you want the side to win comps or produce talent for the top grade?

You talk so much rubbish it’s not funny.
Of course only one side can win the competition.
Edgar played the first game of the year and we lost to the dragons so you are wrong again.
i have already told you that several clubs have eligible players playing up grades. the west tigers have Lachlan Galvin plus several other players.
The reason we had so many half’s combinations is because as Kilkenny said they weren’t performing.
Once again you said we were stacked after the side was picked and we finished twelfth.

No we finished 7th.

Ok sorry Edgar had one loss. The side still had 2 wins 3 losses and a draw without him.

That is the thing with a 9 game season most injuries rule guys out for huge chunks of the season

Yes Wests are another side playing guys higher.

They finished

8th and 16th.

Where do you think they finish if they play Galvin etc down there?

It is really not a hard concept to work out, Some sides think it is better to play their kids higher levels.

Those sides won't go well in these grades, Some like to keep players in their age groups those sides will go better.

We chose the former and finished just outside of the finals.

Yes you are correct we finished 7th.
Remember it was you after the squad was named that said we were stacked and we still didn’t make the play offs.
Parramatta made the play offs and they had several players in higher grades.
what I am not happy about for the first time in over twenty years we failed to make the finals in both SG Ball and Harold Matt’s.

What does it matter if the side makes the finals or not though?

What team in any competition doesn't want to make the finals. Are you for real?
Of course you want to play finals football to gain experience playing in big games against stronger competition.
I repeat that all I said it is unexceptionable not making the finals in both SG Ball and Harold Matt’s for the first time in over 20 years with the largest junior league in the competition.

Playing a higher grade doesn't do that?

As for my stacked comment. The NSW u17's team is a good guide of the quality players in the competition.

From the NSW 18 man u17's team that played Warrington last November. We had 4 of them we also had Jesse McLean get named in the u19's version.

There are 5 of them.

Throw in Galuvao and Tuaoi who are in the elite of the elite internal program that club has and you have 7 players who are on target to potentially play FG from that SG Ball age group.

those 7 all play SG Ball for the full season we go a lot better.

What happened was

Edgar played only 3 games
McLean brothers 0 games
Harry Wald missed a few games

Out of the 7 that leaves you with 2 props and a hooker, Not enough to carry a team.

If from that 7 we get 3 or 4 quality NRL players, Then why would they not call it a successful season?

They say that arguing with idiots only drags you down to their level. Be warned that it's a long slippery slope with this one.

I watched both teams trials at Parker Street and Doug Rennie Field and was underwhelmed. Thought at the time it was just trials, 30 odd players used in each but it just seemed there wasn’t a lot of quality.

Once the season proper started it wasn’t much better, both sides were seriously lacking in quality And in the end the results speak for themselves. While overall it is disappointing, it probably doesn’t mean all that much. As has been pointed out you only really need a couple of players from these grades who may be good enough to progress to the seniors and perhaps NRL.
