parra seem to also go with size rather than ability and skill as well

That is a very strange statement. Parra's Harold Matts have won their 2 games this season by a combined score of 114-6. Whilst they may be a big side, I would hardly say they are lacking in skill or ability.

maybe we should look at also a test before they actually start playing junior reps to see if they are actually the age they state, they have been a lot of cases where births haven't been registered and ages are put down for the sake of it, i know of other sports overseas that have this policy where they will conduct a bone test to actually gives you the correct age, over the top, but i would predict that there would be guys playing in junior reps that would be older then their birth certificate states, I also think their is to much expectation on the pollies, in terms of pushing them through quickly playing them way above their age groups, which only can cause injury and a high expectation put on them to dominate all the times......which is eventually a down fall for most,

Yes, and the sooner weight for age comes back in, the better.

I think that would be a stupid idea, I really doubt there are many kids cheating their age.

Anyone see the SG Ball game, heard they won but played ordinary.

I got there at half time and SG Ball were 22-0 in front. They were woeful in the 2nd half and deserved to lose. They got a soft try a few minutes out from full time and then another lucky try right on the death.

The left centre and winger combined well and were the only players that looked dangerous in attack. I'm yet to be convinced about Harry S. He's a tough little customer, but takes some really bad options and his kicking game was horrible on Saturday.

Agree Fibro

The first half is was the Vaipuna Tia Kilifi show. Dominated everyone and everything he touched.

The 2 & 3 were brilliant and combined extremely well the whole game. My dad and I were extremely impressed with both.

On cronulla's side their backrower DJ someone...#12...absolutely ripped us apart. Apparantly is from Melbourne. Was talking to his dad and he is off-contract this year..

How many more years will people be asking this question. Its not as if he is a local jnr that we are paying peanuts for. he has been in the system long enough, and has been rewarded ridicuously. Last year he was a major dissapointment in sg ball with a bad attitude to boot and was rewarded by getting promoted to 20's. This year he has continued the same but got rewarded by playing 1st grade and training with them.

I agree too Fibroman. Was with you remember. Don't expect you will remember much else about the game day though for reasons which will be all too obvious.

I should add the second half of the SG Ball was very poor from our perspective. 22-4 up at half time. The Sharks totally dominated for 32 minutes of the second half and went to a 24-22 lead with less than three on the clock. We regathered from the kick off and scored on play three or four to get back the lead. Having knocked on from there kick off the clock was stopped with no seconds left. The scrum was packed and Harry Seika took an intercept from a dropped ball and ran 65 metres to score. Very, very unconvincing performance for the second week running.

Thanks for the report, Kilkenny, Big Mick & Fibroman. Being up north of the border I won't see too many of the games.
I did get down for the Central Coast game and thought the Panthers were very ordinary, it was round 1 and I hoped they would improve. Yes I agree the Panthers were just too big and strong for the C/Coast team. I thought Darcy Horgan played very well up front, same with the second rower, I think his name was Sam Hollis.
Sounds like another disappointing game last Saturday, lets hope they start to gel soon.
I have seen Harry play in rep games since U15, he has allot of good skills, maybe its just an attitude thing at this stage. I thought he dominated the trail game against Newcastle, he kicked very well, but then the game against Central Coast was a shocker. Sounds like he backed it up with another one last Saturday.
I for one would not write this kid off just yet, do you think he was just trying to hard maybe.
I know there is still a couple of injuries with 2 or 3 boys, I think the other Qld forward Kyle Burkhardt should be fit for round 4, he has only played 1 trial game to date.

How did Sean Pickup go last Saturday? Again thanks for the reports, keep them coming.

No one is writing Harry Seika off just yet. He looks fit, is playing 80 minutes other than the 10 minutes in the bin against the Coast but just not dominating. I think this is more to do with the fact the side is not performing the way they should be. Honestly, there completion rate in the first two games must be less than 40%. In the second half against the Sharks I didn't see a completed set of six hence the entire half was in our half. There is a lot of work to do with the Ball side and we will know there capabilities when they come up against the better sides. Hopefully, when that occurs we will also improve considerably as will Harry.

western academy sg ball team this week, great to see jennings and hetrik have forced their way to starting centres together, the youngest pair in the comp. Parra say the two have been extra impressive and the staff cannot believe the raw speed they both have, great news for penrith next year. The other to impress is Elkan Tanuvasa, going great guns and will have a great year again with the green and whites. J.Jones needs to make sure the two young ones are tied up or he might miss out to our western ally again?????????????
