He isn't even willing to give some young blokes a go, that's evident when he plays Tolman who adds nothing to there attack for 80 minutes and plays the young forwards for like 20 minutes, the guys lost the plot; give some young blokes some game time FFS.

To be honest, I think last night and last week as well, he was trying to limit the scoring of the opposition rather than turn his side into an attacking powerhouse. It worked to a degree both games, three tries conceded each game against renowned attacking teams, just not enough to win.

I'm good with Tolman, he's not flashy, he doesn't have these massive carries but he does the dirty work. He doesn't need to add anything in attack, all of our other props try and fill that void. He is the only prop that plays like a prop. He is usually good for big minutes, 40 tackles and 15 hit ups for 120m per game. Nothing wrong with that.

We have bigger fish to fry, we need a decent hooker, creative halves, a kicking game and some attacking backs.

How are the 20's going? The problem is pretty obvious and I know this isn't exactly a revelation, however the recruitment and retention over the past few years has been terrible. Hopoate at the back is probably not on big coin but doesn't have enough creativity or spark. Perhaps he might go ok in the Centre's.

The Morris brothers are 2 of the best outside backs of the past decade but they have had too many injuries and are just too slow and old and mistakes have crept into their game as well. It is almost painful watching them plod around these days. I think Montoya has some potential so definitely worth holding onto but then you have the likes of Kerrod Holland, another plodder and Chase Stanley, nice guys sure, but after all his injuries he has no business playing at NRL level.

The halves are a mess, Josh Reynolds has passion and the ability to conjure up a great play but can't organize the backline. Neither can Moses Mbye, he would probably go ok at 5/8 with a classy half back, however that isn't how I would describe Matt Frawley.

The forwards is much the same, Graham getting old, Lichaa is crap, Tolman is a plodder, Kasiano can't produce enough minutes and usually comes on when the team is behind so is trying too many miracle passes. Klemmer is really putting in and for me is a standout, however he is now forced to play as a workhorse so has lost his explosive ability. He use to be the guy who would produce some spark but now is grinding out his metres. Great player imho but maybe not used in the best way.

Josh Jackson is solid and probably suffering from a lack of other creative options in the team. Again individually he is probably doing a very good job but his tradesman like work requires some flair to work off the back of it, just like Klemmer. It just isn't there.

I think it will take a few years to refresh the squad, the Dogs are never down for long and I expect to see them challenging sooner than later, however I really think to make this happen, Des has to go.

Mbye and frawley are terrible and they're key playmakers. The rest of them can't work miracles. Adam Elliot is crap too.

Thought that fualala (or whatever his name is) played well last night.

Based on player personnel the 2017 Dogs would have to be in the top 10 for all time worst teams. Yes the Seagulls / Chargers / Magpies / Rabbits etc have had worst seasons based on wins / losses, but their rosters were nothing like the Dogs.
I give Des a lot of credit for building the Eagles from a mess at the end of 2003 to two premierships by 2011.
I also give Des a lot of the blame for where the Dogs are today as he also built this club

He is one more short drop out from being sacked for good.

Its up there with Brian Smith's one marker tactic.

I still cant believe Mbye left the Alvaro tackle to line up for the next one - but Alvaro was still heading for the tryline and Mbye could see that.It was like he didn't want to be involved in the tackle when the ball was planted over the line.

Is Des seriously worse than most of the other coaches? The fans of about four other clubs whinge about their coaches on a regular basis.

He has proven he can build a team and be successful but he has also shown that he won't deviate from his plan no matter how bad it's going.

In the early years at the dogs he developed a style that worked well with the personnel we had. He has refused to change this style despite having a different roster an ageing team and a game plan that no longer works.

This was THE YEAR that he was going to change it all up. It didn't work...time to go Mr Hasler.

The shit thing is he will go to another club and most likely be successful again.
