If your Des Hasler speculation is good. Shows you're in demand and can only help with negotiations

I wouldn't expect any less regardless of where he ends up.

Craig Young would love to see Dean take over as head coach. Problem is that Dean has not shown any capability to perform at that level; he would be no better than Mary. Dean Young and Ben Hornby need to skoot off to the ESL and gain credibility in their own right. If Craig Young did succeed in having his son appointed as head coach, he would be ensuring Dean had a very short coaching career.

I'm hoping Hasler does not come to terms with the Dogs Board and announces he has accepted the Dragon's offer instead. The Dogs then give him an immediate release to take over the coaching at the Dragons on a 4 year deal which includes the 2017 season.

Please God make this happen!

Possum , with respect , that is a lovely thought , but the chances of that occurring are the same as the federal Treasurer increasing our Pensions by 100% - it just ain't going to happen my friend . But as I said , it is a lovely thought .

If they increased my pension by 100%, I'd be happy to pay tax on it. Surely a win win right!

It's been scientifically proven that holding one's breath causes asphyxiation.

Prepare to be disappointed.

Oh my God, surely not! By now the Board must have learned something.
We finally got a coach in Bennett who knew what he was doing and delivered.
Then we go Price who seemingly didn't lean a thing under Bennett and failed.
The we got Price's assistant coach (attacking play) who knew even less and who's main weakness is attacking play.
Surely not Dean Young who along with Hornby and Mary has coached our players into robots with no idea of how to play what's in front of them and who do not seem concerned at all about a poor game or mistakes made during a game.

To me it seems the coaching staff and players are there to go through the motions and just move on to the next event without any shame about a poor performance.

I say get rid of the coaching staff and those players who have lost pride in their work.

Ok you have just landed yourself the coaching job , and with that sort of thinking you can be our CEO also ..... :)
If us as fans can see the problems why can't the idiots in charge?

Even though both Hornby and Young are rookies I thought that having won a premiership under Bennett they might bring the knowledge of what they learnt from Bennett into the coaching box.As assistants don't they get an opinion?Or is it just that Mcisiot. wants to do things his way? Both Hornby and Young were one club players.Instill the pride and passion and what it means to wear theBig Red V.

Plenty of good players, who had the benefit of playing under really good coaches ultimately fail as coaches themselves.
Not everyone is cut out to do it.

DES’S NEW DEAL

The Canterbury Bulldogs are still working towards green-lighting a two-year extension for coach Des Hasler but there’s no decision imminent for the time being.

Hasler’s contract extension was once-again one of the key subjects at a Bulldogs board meeting on Tuesday night, where chief executive Raelene Castle continued to work overtime trying to find a suitable outcome for both parties.

Plenty of people close to Hasler believe a deal is close to being done
