If there was no saga with Rob Lui we wouldn't be talking about this issue because he'd be with the Dragons. The public aren't idiots, the kid Moltzen changed his mind when he and the Tigers saw both a need and an opportunity to remain with his friends and at the club he is familiar with.
Saints deserve compensation from this as it was obvious from the comments of both Marshall and Sheens at the time of the Saints announcement that Moltzen's recruitment was a done deal and that he was inclined to go there. Now Saints plans regarding the kid have been kyboshed in an bitter situation. we hope will be prevented in the future.
I don't want to see a situation where people sit out seasons or young blokes are playing for any club but don't really want to be there. The League will need to fix this situation. It is a poor look for fans and sponsors.
Mate, away from the emotion surrounding it all, thats basically the truth of the matter.
Humphreys has denied that Moltzen needs surgery. So either Doust is lying and made the whole story up, or Tim has told a story of a possible outcome, but he might have conveyed that to Doust as what was going to happen.
For mine, the Tigers and the manager have come out of this looking pretty poor. Hunphreys will reap what he sews by doing business this way. It reminds me of a big corporate. No one like big corporates.
Moltzen has come across, to me, as lacking pride and a self pitying weakling, which I personally despise. Your word is all you've got. At least I believe it is. Thats what being a man is all about.
Saints have come out with egg on their faces and I'm certain that that no club will be dealing with Tauber and the Tigers in good faith in future.
The Tigers got to keep their man, but at what cost.
Saints get the moral high ground and the moral support of the NRL and , I'm sure, every other club. They've come out of it with their dignity.
The Tigers. Lets see how they fare in future when they deal like this. Gibbs, Fifita, Moltzen.
I believe Saits have grounds to sue Tauber and Moltzen for damages. The Tigers don't have a case to answer.
