Have the Tigers convinced Moltzen to stay? Release sought from his Saints contract

I don't support Saints or the Tigers, so here is an outsiders view..

The Dragons stuffed it up. They knew that while Moltzen was given verbal permission to speak to other clubs, they should have asked his manager for a WRITTEN RELEASE from the Tigers as per the NRL guidelines before giving him any contract. They knew they stuffed up, the NRL would rule in the Tigers favour, so they have quickly raised the white flag.

I am the last person to stick up for the tigers front office but on this occasion the dragons are the ones that have stuffed up. Anyone with half a business brain knows a deal isn't done until you've had ALL the documents signed. The dragons went off on someones word, sadly this doesn't cut it these days.

Actually in contract law it does.

I work with contracts every day mate and if i had a similar situation and was in dousts shoes i would be in so much shit with my employeer it wouldnt be funny. I wish we were in a world where your word was good enough but after working in the industry for 11 years it means nothing. At the end of the day the tigers have won the little battle so it doesn't matter who we think was ethically or morally right. Nice guys finish last mate.

Regardless, the Dragons announced the signing months ago and the Tigers didn't say boo until Lui had his annual "beat the f**k out of your missus day"

Doust telling the world early fired up Humpty imo, he got the shits big time.
Held off on the release...conveniently for him as Lui goes mental 3 months later.
Pure arse...nothing more....but the Drags gave the Tiges the loophole

The way the Tigers played it was dirty but legal. There would not have even been a loophole if Peter Doust is a dumbass for not getting a release before he announced the signing.

Who gives a toss any more really he is an average player who players for an average club with even less average fans he's where he belongs.

He has no heart or guts alot of tigers so called supporters wanted him gone a few months ago now they are glowing talk about indian givers.

The ironic thing is he'll play for the 2012 team then they'll dumb him that will give me the biggest laugh of all talk about a bone head.

I am pleased for the Tigers, they were fighting tooth and nail, & did whatever they could do to get their man.

They obviously have a very, very high opinion of him.

Time to front load some of our existing contracts and make some room to chase someone good for 2013 (like The Dugan).

We'll be sure to give little Timmy a warm reception in Round 3. I hope he's not too anxious about it
