Have the Tigers convinced Moltzen to stay? Release sought from his Saints contract

Time to front load some of our existing contracts and make some room to chase someone good for 2013 (like The Dugan).

No kidding. Having an extra 280k in the kitty for 2013 will give us some real buying power having essentially 560k on the first year to grab a player or two. I'm glad we're not rushing out and buying a stop-gap replacement, hopefully management is diligent and uses up all the remaining cash to position us well for 2013.

Dragons dodged a bullet. Moltzen is deadset ordinary. You guys are better off without him.

I think you'll find most dragons fans don't have an issue with missing out on moltzen, its more a fact that it's left a gaping hole in our possible cap expenditure for 2012. The reported figure he signed on for could have certainly bought players of a pretty decent standard. Instead we're likely to be moving one of the best wingers in the world to fullback (Nightingale) or an inexperienced player who is more likely a half than a fullback in Kyle Stanley. Bronx Goodwin is probably the most suited but he has had a horror run with injuries.

The depth is the issue, not the player we missed out on. In saying that we're lucky that we do have as much depth to cover the backline as we do in Chase and Kyle Stanley, Nightingale, Vidot, Goodwin, Morris and Cooper plus a few talented U20's.

I understand that Firey. i can't disagree at all. But silver lining is that you can use that cap space very effectively next year on signing someone that will make a real difference.

Hang on, what am I doing being nice to you guys? f**k what is the world coming to.
