Makes you wonder how many other players out there are that you don't hear about that have tried playing Rugby League but couldn't make the cut. I'm sure the NZ union wouldn't want to publicise anything about the national team having players the couldn't make it in league. Would they!

Cant see anywhere you said that it was just a story you heard...

Grammar geek ? This is a question.

It was a story that was going around. So, if it did say it was a story, would it have made a difference to the moderator. I don't think so.

Tana was NOT rejected by Newcastle.. After the trial he was offered a small development contract to stay in Newcastle. He was homesick and didn't like Newcastle so he came back home.

Now if you want talk sh*t take it to the fight club and leave it out of here.

Who does like Newcastle it's S**t hole :p

Am I wrong or wasn't he a Junior Kiwi??? (As opposed to Junior All Blacks) - Yes, others answered it further down. lol Clearly, he had the ability to play League or he wouldn't have made such a prestigious team.

Anyone who honestly beleives that Tana could not have been one of the best centres in the game in League is either kidding themselves, or a Union hating Troll.

If Rupeni could go injury free and stay below 100kg for a full NRL season, he would score 30 tries.

And if he was motivated, and if he carried his share of the defensive load.

Meh, Nonu aint that great.

He's to predictable now, and Henry has said we wont be seeing a Nonu/Umaga combo any time soon... and with Smith preferred ahead of Nonu in the 13 Jersey atm he doesnt seem to have too much future as an All Black - He's to slow to make it as a International Winger, IMO he's overated on the wing at Super 12 level.

And you're full of it.....

If he is so predictable why did he lead the Super12 in line breaks? Why did he score some of the best tries in the comp???

Motivation is a prerequisite of staying under 100kg and not faking some bogus injury.

His defence has nothing to do with his tryscoring.

To be chosen to play in an NRL side you have to be able to tackle. If you cannot tackle, you will not be picked, and will not have the opportunity to score any tries at all.

Thus, his defence has everything to do with his tryscoring ability in league.

lol. If Rupeni was scoring tries at the rate of 30 a season he wouldn't be dropped due to defensive deficiencies. That's absurd.

Towards the end of the season he wasnt as effective, one of his main assests was his dummy, but eventually it was worked out that he next to never passed the ball anyway.

The Crusaders and Lions preety stopped him in his tracks.

He would not get the chance to score any tries, because nobody would buy him. They would look at his videos and see that he doesn't do anything much other than run with the ball, and frankly that ability looks like a flash in the pan.

He is fat and lazy now, no doubt.
