Hayne blame - knives out for Eels star

Have always got the sense that Hayne has unlimited abilty, but does not have the footballing attitude of a Billy Slater, D Lockyer or Andrew Johns.

Maybe he's just sick and tired of being battered pillar to post by nubs when others (like the 3 you've quoted) can do no wrong?

Just a hypothetical staggs. If hayne resigns (I don't think he will)

One club that will go all out for him IMO is dragons if they don't have a fully established number 1. Maybe tigers too. I could see many clubs gunning for him. Alot of clubs will love to have a player of his skill at their club

Tigers
Dragons
Souths
Titans (they're still broke an gunning for cronk)

Isn't Brett Stewart heading to the dragons?
Anyway they can't afford him

He is top dog in the club
If not the league!

And this is the problem. He sees himself as top marquee player and thinks he can do what ever he wants. If our players showed they don't need him then maybe he will start f**king trying instead of thinking so much of himself. I like hayne he is an exciting player an I hope we keep him. But it's a team sport and everyone needs to dig in. If that story is true and his knee was fine he could play. If its not right then why the f**k would you jump around in the sheds at half time?

move hayne to 5/8 thats his best position

Put Roberts at 14?? Agree hayne need to be a playmaker but like I said he wants to be fullback he's made that clear when ando was here

my gut feeling is he won't be there beyond 2013 and maybe that's a good thing...

Well from what I have heard, and you posting this, I can only conclude that SK and hayne don't see eye to eye.

If hayne is to leave this club, it would be an absolute disgrace. Infact, IMO we should begin negotiations with him at the end of the year.

I can't see there being any salary cap issues, because there would be no shortage of 3rd party sponsors willing to jump on board.

Everyone is acting like hayne is the be all and end all. If he leaves he leaves. If he stays he stays. A player isn't bigger than a team. And if he goes maybe then it'll force players to play for eachother and learn to win as a team an not just count on jarryd. Maybe jarryd needs to leave for the better of his game too? It's a tough situation the club is in at the moment but I have faith we wi come out the end of this tunnel for the better

well mate, both contracts end at the same time...so I'll guess we'll see what happens...

whilst we're playing "from what I heard"...there's a reason why Hoppa signed with us and the reason I hear is because Haybe already made his decision.

It will be very hard for the club to keep him when his contract is up

I am wondering if you know (given this article), if the rumour that was on MMM the Saturday before last is true? Sandow had a "disagreement" with Hayne?

Did anyone else hear this on the radio with Rabbits & Dan Ginnane?

So I wonder if Hoppa signed because he thought Hayne was staying. Or did he sign because he thought Hayne was going.

I can't work it out. I'm guessing he would want Hayne to be staying. So that's good news.

Mate, doesn't that contradict all the hard work SK is trying to do in building an academy.

Develop a junior, and let him go in his prime. Hayne is a match winner, you need to hold onto those type of players.

Maybe the senior players aren't happy with SK 'vision' and that is why they aren't responding to game plans.

Maybe it would help hayne's chances of being retained if he worked on his tan,:lol:

That's why he will possibly go to AFL or Rugby Union. The GWS option suits his style - $1million + deal, an Australia-wide exposure.

I can see the news article now "I have achieved all I wanted to achieve in League and at Parramatta, this is a great new challenge, etc, etc"

Have always got the sense that Hayne has unlimited abilty, but does not have the footballing attitude of a Billy Slater, D Lockyer or Andrew Johns.
i think you have an unrealistic view of just how much money the afl and aru have to throw around.

union said a while ago they won't be throwing money around at nrl players or be used as bargaining chips for players. unless a player is going to french (for some reason they are cashed up to their eyeballs) or japanese (they are throwing around heaps of $ to attract talent to boost rugby before they host the wc) then the cash cow most likely won't be union.

the fat greek also said afl won't be poaching any more nrl players. izzy and hunt were paid for marketing purposes to boost the profile of afl around the god lcoast and west sydney. each club still has a cap to adhere to and by the time hayne's contract runs out and he is eligible to play afl the big salary cap and draft allowances the new clubs have will be minute. there will be no way hayne wil get offered anywhere near $1m to play afl, especially when he has never played it before.

hopefully the next nrl tv deal sees a significant rise in the cap over the next two seasons so we can afford to keep hayne.

If there is a increase, that will help the club big time.

I think at the 3nd of the day everyone involved in the club wants hayne to stay for the rest of his career..

Can't believe people are saying we should get rid of Hayne. Players like him are a once in a generation type player. You don't let superstars like that go without a fight.

With the academy we'll have dozens of Hayne-like players coming through.

Don't sweat it.
