which would have relied on his guilty verdict in a criminal proceedings court

don't think they have much of an argument now
Actually, the two have different levels of "burden of proof". The civil burden of proof (more likely than not) is considered lower than the criminal burden of proof (beyond reasonable doubt).

So the civil proceedings are not reliant on a criminal guilty finding at all. Hayne's civil payout in the US is a case in point - no criminal charge/guilty verdict in sight.

You merkins are welcome.

I wonder how many womens refuges and angry men counselling units the state of NSW could have built instead of pissing our money up against a wall on a crap case to nail Haynes.

I guess he gets his awards back and his junior immortal status is re-instated.

An interview on 60 minutes. A dramatised reenactment of where he asks her for consent.

Cut to add break for kit e Kat roast beef stroganoff for pampered pussycats before she gives her answer.

And he picks up another Nike contract.

Hayne has burned all his cash and the “victim” is genuinely traumatised. Welcome to justice.
Plus he has spent 2.5 years in gaol.
They’ve got to fix the system.
Open court should mean just that.
Judges shouldn’t be saying what you can and can’t question someone on.
Theyve got to get rid of this crazed obsession with women being pure and “innocent” and men being expendable bags of shit.

Well, most certainly there should be a non-gender aligned balance of the presumption of innocence and the victim being believed.

On here, merkins took a side automatically and that's probably a sign of human nature.

How do you get an unbiased judgement these days based on genuine facts and the rule of law ? Give it to AI, what could possibly go wrong?

Gronk potentially 0/2 with his life missions of George Pell and Hayne outrage.

If Trump and Dutton exist at the same time he is going to need some help guys please be kind to him

Judge is right, there was always reasonable doubt if events played out exactly as described. But when the verdict happened at the time posts of even vague doubt/waiting until the appeal were removed...

There is a reason Dally M's weren't stripped straight away and it's because people within the NRL probably have at least as bigger brains than the average here.
