Personally I think Hayne has had his best years and don't think he will have a great season coming up. However he is still a draw with the fans and makes watching titan matches more interesting. If he came back to parra it just can't be for the money would have to take a pay cut which I doubt he would.

I really don't think BA would consider signing Hayne unless it was for way unders.

We don't need a fullback anymore and while Hayne can play games in the halves, and he will do good things there at times, he is too much of an "individual" player to really succeed there at this stage of his career.

Also I reckon paying him at 30 anything over $500k to play in the halves permanently for the first time in his career is way to much of a risk to our squad and cap management. Plus he may start getting the odd injury as he gets older.

The eels have moved on!!

BA has had 3 pre-seasons without Hayne and for all appearances seems to have built a more cohesive and balanced squad then we ever had while we had Hayne. So on the surface, I would say that BA would probably not be too interested in signing him... however, as we know, Rugby League is a business and if the club seriously thought Hayne would put bums on seats, and wanted/needed the revenue he would bring, then I would suggest they may try to convince BA otherwise. Having said that, Mad Max and the Bern seems determined to not repeat the mistakes of the past and have the Board and Management involved in the day to day decisions of the football side so I can see them both staying out of all recruitment decisions (except obviously making the $ available) and letting BA choose his squad.

TLDR: No, we wouldn't sign Hayne.

Completely agree Josh, but what is unders for him.

Any one valuing him will probabaly value him on his best years but I think all this journeyman shit has f**ked up his league game. We only saw a bit of what he is capable of at the end of last year but he seems to have a long way to go to get back to his old form.

On current form he aint a million dollar player in my opinion and I dont see BA wanting to "unbalance" his squad just to fit the special one in.

Probably yes, but also depends on his 2017 form.

I think we move on and concentrate on signing Elgey or Roberts from the Titans. Would give anything to sign Ash Taylor but the Tits have done well in keeping him. I've also moved on from Moses I reckon he is severely overrated.

No, he's a past-it, ego-driven cancer and we can't trust a word he says.

I know he didnt have much game time in the 9s but what I saw was the same disinterested Hayne. Slow play the ball. Avoiding tackling and only interested in the big play. Wouldnt have him back regardless of the cost and I reckon our offer when he was available supports that. Yesterdays hero regretably. Great skill but attitude and involvement still stinks like it always did. Happy when he left, didnt want him back and still dont. This is Our House now Jarryd.

I would like the see what people like Colonel, Forty20 and MJC think?

He is all about the brand and the headline. He would love the whole homecoming thing and being welcomed with open arms BUT as BA said last year they are trying to build towards something and he has to realise that it's not all about him if he wanted to be a part of it. I don't think his ego could take the step back.

My biggest issue is he now feels he has to reinvent himself and his brand after the Titans/Rugby debacle. I think the club needs to steer clear. There has been more than enough drama around the clubland while there is no evidence that he did anything wrong there were suggestions that a big part of the fraud allegations facing ex officials of the club involved him.

I am excited by the players we have at our club. French, the other night alongside Inglis and Thurston didn't look out of place, Norman is more than capable of competing with some of the best halves in the game. Gutherson, while untried, is enthusiastic and athletic enough to make a good fist of the half role with Norman. I have some questions over our hooking role - King and Pritchard could become a very good rotation. I would like us to bring back Peats or chase someone like Sione Katoa or Kayden Brailey. I think the side we have can make a good go at the Top 4.

Hayne isn't needed here unless we require a circus act.
