IIRC we offered Puddin $800k and he took $1.1m from the tits.

I would think that he is worth about that still and I fully doubt that he would take a pay cut.

If he is prepared to be a team player, shut his f**king trap, shred and get 2009/10/11 fit then I am cautiously interested.

If I was to err on the side of caution, then I say no thanks.

If only he was as good as he thinks he is, he may be worth 1.2 mill but sadly those days are gone. His ego seems to think he can play any football code but he failed miserably at RU.

His love of NFL got him over the line for the Niners but he doesn't seem to have the same passion for League any more.

What was telling for me, was the period that he was "unemployed" in his words, he signed with the Tits and after 3 months or so waiting for a big coin deal - he was fat.

It demonstrates to me his delusional idea that he can get by on his extraordinary ability alone. Wrong Puddin.

He's out injured.

I'm sure he has a passion for ALL sport. Maybe just not at the Titans.
Who would know?
That comment of yours sounded like a Daily Telegraph headline.

If he took a paycut, and shed some kilo's like Gronk asserted, then I'd be very tempted to move Jennings on and play him in the centres. That's the only position I think he would have any chance of playing for us (maybe anyone) anymore... Problem is - Hayne taking a paycut, will likely still cost more than Jennings...

A few sports writers have said that his relationship with the Tits coach has become untenable.

I think that he should take up the option for 2018 and prove the chatter and gossip wrong.

As a NSW supporter I want him back at his best.

How was that @strider ?

I think the only way he would get back to anywhere near his best is if he came back to Parra. You could tell from his Tits signing presser that he didn't want to be there given he spoke more about Parra than them. As much as he has carried on I reckon he still records Eels games. I also think we have moved on for the better of the team and he will not be coming back

our trainer can't even get our current players in shape so he'd have no hope with sludge guts

Hayne is one of the most talented players I have ever seen play the game, if not THE most talented.

But in the end he will be known as a loser. He has only ever played in losing teams (save for 2007 and 2009, although in 2009 we completely sucked for most of the year and only just made the Finals). All this years for Parra and NSW, now at the Titans. Even when he went to NFL he played for a losing team.

He has a chance to join a good team. A winning team, whichever one it may be. He has made plenty of money in his lifetime so far. Does he ever want to. E a winner? It's not like if he signs for the Broncos/Roosters/Melbourne he would be getting no money anyway. He'd still be earning more that most of us would earn over a few years.

True that. I feel sorry for him in a way. He was well on the way to becoming an NRL Immortal and could have been mentioned in the same sentence as Joey, Wally, Bozo and Churchill. Right now he is a million miles from that and as you say, is at risk of being remembered as a loser.

Can't believe anyone's interested in Parra signing Hayne, given the form (and lack of attitude/fitness) the guy has shown since his much hearalded return to the game? Great memories of a once talented player, and the golden late-2009 run... but nostalgia isn't worth us forking out $800K+.

His value has surely dropped given the reality of his return... If we originally offered $800K and Hayne thought he was too good for it, then if he comes cap in hand trying to escape the mess he's made at the Titans, we should offer no more than $600K. He won't take it, and we lose nothing by not having him stinking up the place here.

Anyone thinking that Hayne playing at Parra will bring out his best again is simply wishful thinking imo. Post 2009 the guy had no passion for winning a premiership with the Eels, left his last Eels contract early, and the club's structures and squad have moved on since 2014.

Personally, I think the only argument one could make for signing Hayne is that, if his heart is in Parramatta (and I think it is, tbh), then he would snap out of his poor form funk, and give us his best.

But as talented as he is, I think he's not the best fit for our squad.
