Probably just comes down to $. Pay the coach out and it costs you a few hundred outside your cap.

Punt Hayne and your cap is in a world of pain for years.

Not really, next year is his last year of his contract. So they would only feel the pain for one year, additionally that could probably move him on to another club and while paying a fair chuck of his contract still save enough to pick up a top 17 back.

The question is: are you planning to renew the coach's contract ?

Yeah that's my point, if he was on $1million and they paid $700-800k, they have around $200-300k to pick up a back.

Considering Haynes form that would lose much.

If you only have to pay The Plane $200-$300k (I think you'd have to pay more), if he became a distraction and not what you wanted around the place, you could just punt him and wear the entire cost in your cap, which would sort of be the equivalent of having a player like Josh Hoffman out injured for the remainder of the season.

Do they really need to replace him? If they're current backs stay on the field they'd be fine. Surely they could just give his money to Taylor and buy another backup with the change??

Of course, plenty of options available to the titans. They are in a decent spot as Hayne only has one year left, they would be f**ked if it was 2-3 years.

No idea, just as per my point above, they are lucky they could sack Hayne without a lot of long term plain.

Sadly for the titans last year they let backs Kelly / Hoffman and GL all go. All would have been nice options for them for next year.

the media will blame Hayne for Henry getting sacked I'm sure,
But it seems Henry has lost more than half the playing group including young Ash Taylor. Rumor is Taylor won't re-sign with the titans if Henry is still there.

Wonder if the Henry / Taylor issue is a bit of Bennett and co leaking to the media ?? Waters was going to be sacked after origin 1......

Additionally they had no problems last year before Hayne showed up. So is it Hayne doing some recruiting.....

Nobody likes to see a slow motion train wreck. He was well on track to become an immortal not too long ago.

Under BA, anything could've been possible. If he had stellar seasons in 15-17 under BA, in years that we've played decent footy, who knows what could've been.
