Apparently he's not. He's an advisor now. Or so I'm led to believe.
The whole thing began with a story about his "agent Wayne Beavis" talking to the titans about exploring alternatives ... did they just get the title wrong? Or is it horse shit?

I reckon at the right price there would be more people for his return. At a million bucks no way but 500-600k then hell yes!
But he's not even worth 500-600K anymore. The negative impact he'll have on the team isn't worth it at all, not at any price..

History...

Last season he played with us he won the dally m. I'm not sure that was a negative impact on us. Unless you are implying that the reason we didn't make the semis was because of the dally m player of the year?

Ashley is smoking something or just has his head in the sand if he believes that the average Eels fan wouldn't take Hayne back in a heartbeat.

For a million you may get less people enthusiastic but for the 500 or 600 mark a large majority who support the team will remember the good he did for us and will live in hope that he can regain that magic.

There are the Eels fans on here who are more involved in the fandom who have very strong opinions one way or another and then there are the people who just support the club when the game is on and don't give it much thought outside of that.

We see the first lot of fans so if you come here to gauge how the fandom would react then there are plenty who wouldn't want him back.

Also, if BA wants him and signs him then i will have to go with him on that because us fans have f**k all idea on his impact to the team and if the coach who coached him to his last Dally M medal thinks he can work with him then who is anyone to argue?

Sure, have an opinion but don't state your opinion like it is fact.

Most eels fans I know would forgive Hayne in a heartbeat. Then again, the forgiving kind aren't lurking on an internet forum waiting for their next opponent to argue with. They are the ones that are too occupied with jobs, families and actually spend money on the Eels.

How do you know he'll have a negative impact on the team?
Cos all he has now is hype ... he is not what he was and i dont think he wants to accept that .... he has been trouble for the titans and he was crap for nsw .... he is not the big man anymore and he cant accept that

If he accepts substantially less than the 1.2mill he is on I reckon that’s a sign that he realizes he is not ‘the man’ anyomore .
