If he wants to play 6 in 2018 then he'll have no time to hide when he's puffed and will need to aim up defensively for 80 mins.

Is he capable - of course. Is he willing to work hard enough to pull it off - dunno, that's the $64 question.
Hayne for $64 under the cap is a bargain! Make it happen BA!

Considering Edwards / Norman's past form, if they had stuffed up again, we could probably just terminate their contract and chase Hayne on our terms!!

Rather then taking Hayne at an over inflated price !!!
I agree we could (would?) have rissoled Norman/Edwards if they were involved in legit scandals and other options were available. The complication with Hayne is that he recently recommitted to the Titans for a significant sum of money. He won’t be leaving them for a pay cut, meaning any club that takes him will either need to pay a lot or rely on the Titans chipping in to see him gone.

so what we are saying is Norman has stuffed up again, it's being kept hush hush at present, if we can sign a replacement (Hayne) we sack him as he is basically on his last warning.
Edwards also off field issues and will be let go so is that where we get the cash to sign Napa as well?

So basically we’ll sack Norman for “disciplinary reasons” if we can land Hayne but if we can’t then suddenly his off field discretion’s don’t matter as much and he can stay?
We re-signed him after his last scandals. Clearly it’s not a matter of whether or not we want him at the club, but rather a matter of cost (risk) vs reward.

Read between the lines C.

If it’s big enough that we have to move Norman to another club it would have been all over the news by now. This club can’t even fart without it being made public so I cannot see anything serious enough to warrant a “player swap” being kept quiet.

It just doesn’t happen no matter how well the leaks have been plugged.

Couldn’t agree more how bad can it be if it never hit the news and still hasn’t, it’s a move asking for trouble. Hayne at 6 is a big no no his ego and running the time is stupid.

Norman is a dope yes but if we haven’t heard it throughout the news it can’t be that bad.

That argument works up until you place Hayne into the equation. The risk v reward in his case is considerably more than Norman given his form of the past season and a half and his influence on a club.

Avenger you info in past has been horse shit. Lets see how you go this time around.
No offense but if someone trusted you enough to tell you this secret information then its grubby to leak it on a footy forum and too rub dirt on our players.

Even if I knew 100% one of our players did something wrong I wouldnt leak it on an internet forum due too my loyalty as a fan towards the club.
You come on here and blab like a school girl. So i do hope your taking the piss. And if are well cruel joke towards both Norman and KE.

if they were going to turf Norman they'd be better off going after Pearce to play in the halves rather than Hayne

As I said, it doesn’t need to be a massive scandal. Just behaviour indicating a problem player hasn’t changed and might just be another loose Wednesday night away from a damaging incident.

The Cronk rumour possibly lends credence to Avenger's rumour but I'm with Baz barring a severe indiscretion by Norman that has somehow escaped media scrutiny (or possibly a Moylan type scenario), past behaviour and comments point to Norman still being wanted by club and especially not trading him for Hayne

Again, it comes down to cost/risk vs reward. For Hayne, Norman or anyone else. It’s the club's job to assess that, not ours. The club's stakeholders have a lot more information than any of us, as well as genuine skin in the game.

Yeah but as Colonel said it's not like Hayne or the other potential target Pearce don't come with at least same level of risk. And we come back to Kylie

But it has to be big enough to justify moving that player on (ie termination, essentially). There is still a binding contract. If it's just something minor the player is well within their contractual rights to dig their feet in and fight it.

I can't see something with Norman escaping media attention no matter how small, given the year he had last year.
