Of course Jarryd should be held accountable for anything he did wrong, but the lass went to hospital 4 months later. Did not previously go to the police. Very muddy. All the same, there are some victims that do harbour shame etc and do not report. The cops could not lay charges based on the evidence. This civil case will be about witnesses and each other’s friends, emails and social media. Star witness for the defence is Krisnan Inu :innocent:.

which would be an admission of guilt despite having her sign a non disclosure

The link below is the girl's lawyer talking to OZ journalists. She says that she wants an admission of guilt, but in these civil matters I am sure that what she really wants is $$$.

It will cost Jarryd cash to defend it and will cost him cash every time his lawyer has to deal with the file between now and Jan 2020.

Sometimes it's best to make a commercial decision and "without prejudice and admission of any liability" make her an offer to make it go away. Good result if he is guilty. Bad result if it was consensual and he has been played, but what can you do ?

According to that last article posted, medical staff are the ones who went to police first when she went to hospital. Not sure why she waited 4 months whilst in pain to go, but by the looks, initially anyway, she didn't want to take it further

She alleges they had "minimal interaction" at the bar, but caught an Uber to his apartment where he sexually assaulted her.

Hayne claimed she "willingly engaged in sexual interaction that did not include sexual intercourse".

According to court documents filed by JV's lawyer, she was still in pain four months after the alleged rape and went to a hospital for treatment.

Hospital medical staff were obligated to inform police, but JV declined to speak to authorities.

It was only in May, 2016, she decided to speak to police and the investigation began.

We have mandatory reporting in NSW too for sexual assault, child protection and DV.
