If he was fair dinkum about re-establishing himself as a league player (despite what bartman thinks I don't think he has lost it) the only person that could manage him IMHO is Brad Arthur or Craig Bellamy. The only two positions that he could still make a contribution is centre or 5/8th. Just my opinion guys.
Fair enough opinion Av.

Bu do you think Hayne is fair-dinkum about re-establishing himself as a league player? I think the Titan's contract was just a fallback when the Waratahs said no thanks and ruined Hayne's chance of being a dual international. And that he's just filling in time before he can jump to French union for more $ and less scrutiny.

It's unlikely Parramatta will be one of them. The Eels aren't keen on bringing Hayne back to the club and are more than happy with the development of fullback Bevan French, who they view as the face of the club over the next decade.

They've also been left scarred by Hayne turning down the chance to return to the club last season in favour of a lucrative deal with the Titans. Things can change quickly in rugby league, but they'll have to change dramatically if the Eels are to have another lash at bringing the prodigal son home.
Than goodness for that.

And good to see a bit of truth being published this week about Jarryd turning us down, rather than his original lies/claims that no offer was made.

It sells papers (I rarely buy one), gets people's attention. They only want to sell the goss and controversy surrounding league, nothing about the big games coming up over the weekend. Most league fans hate it but apparently some people like it.
They hate it enough to all click on it and share it on forums and whinge about it. From the media's point of view they don't care if we like it. They just want the site traffic.

Hate read all you like. The media still get paid. If you want to hurt them ignore them.

Haynes issie it time changing everything. He was the best fullback in the game and 26 going on 27 into his prime. Now at 29 and 30 next season.
In the last 24mths a few young guys have emerged since Hayne dominated at back.
Munster,French,Mitchel,Tedesco,turbo tom, Valentine Holmes,Ponga,Whighton.
Thats 8 first grade fullback options or guys who want to play there atleast who are young and eager.
I could throw in gutherson, dwz, lolohea as guys capable and worthy options.
Time has past him. Best bet now is to get as much of that money as he can. From whoever he can.

Michael Ennis says the Hayne project has failed spectacularly.

“I thought they (Titans) were in a really good place,” Ennis said on Triple M’s Deadset Legends program.

“They found out who they were and were heading in the right direction and since the injection of Hayne last year, I think they’ve gone backwards.”

Ennis says it is clear that Hayne only really cares about one man.

“I understand his ambitions. I think it’s wonderful that he wants to achieve everything he can with his sporting ability in the period of time that he can do that,” Ennis said.

“Unfortunately rugby league is a team game for Jarryd.

“The perception at the moment is that he thinks he’s bigger than the game, but also his club.”

While Hayne may feel like the market will be clamouring for his signature given the superstar he is, Ennis says clubs may be put off by the drama that comes with the “Hayne Plane”.

Even the Titans could be reconsidering whether they want Hayne as part of their plans going forward, given both his current attitude and the sizeable chunk of the salary cap he takes up.

“There’s no doubt of his playing ability, no one ever questions that,” Ennis said.

“The question I ask will any NRL side want to go there?

“You’ve got to have everyone pulling in the same direction to achieve something that’s so hard to achieve.

“The minute you have someone there where the focus is on them, it distracts from where you want to go.”

Ennis says if Hayne does decided to again depart the NRL, the game will quickly move on — as it always does.

“The game is far bigger and has been bigger for a long time,” Ennis said.

They don't hate it at all. All of the controversy and stupidity that they report on gives them big ratings. I'm sure they would report on more boring stuff it merkins lapped it up in the same way. But merkins don't care for that shit, do they?
Mention LBAs and structure, and merkins put shit on you. Come in with some gossip about a player's personal life and you're the best poster ever.

Ex-NFLer Jarryd Hayne finding life difficult back Down Under
Associated Press

The Hayne Plane, not quite a year after flying out of San Francisco, has hit some turbulence Down Under.

In recent weeks, former 49er Jarryd Hayne has faced allegations that he’s got a bad attitude, is overweight and missed a training session for his current rugby league club in Australia.

Hayne was an undrafted free agent when he surprisingly made the 49ers’ 53-man roster as a running back and kick returner in 2015, but decided to retire from the NFL in May of last year.

He didn’t say it at the time, but Australian media reported that he didn’t want to learn a revised playbook under new coach Chip Kelly — who had replaced Jim Tomsula, and has since been replaced by Kyle Shanahan.

Hayne said he wanted to attempt to make the Fiji rugby sevens squad for the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. But that experiment lasted only a short time when he realized he wasn’t good enough to make the squad that eventually won the gold medal in Brazil.

So back to the National Rugby League he went, signing a contract with the Gold Coast Titans. That upset some supporters of the Parramatta Eels, the club where he’d spent his entire career and to whom he’d promised in 2014 to return as part of a “lifetime agreement” if his NFL experiment didn’t work out. But his return NRL match last August sold out the stadium, and television even had a “Hayne Cam” to watch his every move on the field, where he assisted on one Titans’ try in a losing cause and was involved in several other runs.

This season, which began last weekend, has already been somewhat of an ordeal.

Australian media on Wednesday reported that Hayne has been removed from the Titans’ “leadership group” over attitude problems, and that the star fullback argued with teammates about a number of issues, including him being overweight. One newspaper said his weight had increased to 106 kilograms, or 238 pounds.

Gold Coast coach Neil Henry refused to comment on claims Hayne was fined for missing training, saying the story was “old news.” And Hayne tweeted “Loose lips sink ships!” on Sunday after the reports first emerged.

Attempting to clarify the situation, Hayne told News Corp. newspapers that he had permission from one of the team’s captains to skip a session and fly to Sydney for treatment on an injury but was fined when Henry found out.

In January, Henry said Hayne had turned up to the start of pre-season training overweight, citing the excess bulk acquired from NFL conditioning.

“He’s come back a bit heavy and we’re working on that,” Henry told Sky Sports.

He also hasn’t helped his cause with the company he keeps. Last September, he was investigated by the NRL’s integrity commission after being filmed with a known gang member — no action was taken — and he also upset the Titans’ management recently by saying he might want to play rugby union in France when his two-year contract expires.

It’s been a whirlwind 18 months for Hayne, who against the odds made the initial roster out of training camp as a rookie running back in 2015 with the 49ers.

He made his preseason debut against the Houston Texans, completing a 53-yard run with his second touch of the ball and finished the game with five carries for 63 yards, two punt returns for 24 yards and one kick return for 33. During the regular season — after fumbling his first kick return in what was a real downer for his fans in Australia where the game was broadcast live — he played eight games with one start, had 17 carries for 52 yards and six catches for 27 yards while also returning eight punts for 76 yards.

He would likely have been given a chance to play for the 49ers in 2016, but decided to leave. And that was perhaps his best decision — the 49ers lost all but two of their 16 games last year.

Hayne has not been willing to comment officially on the recent issues, but has taken some solace on the support he’s received on social media.

i doubt we could afford him now anyway

Well I dont believe we would want him anyway but as far as affording him, dunno

I really dont think his value is that high atm, he is worth what some one will pay and if the Tits dont take up the option I think that will devalue him considerably.

If he plays league next season I dont think he would be worth any more than $500K but even then I dont think anyone would want him disrupting their team, so perhaps even less imo.
