We would only let Edwards go if BA thinks Taka will be better and if he also think Niakuore, Stone or Fainga are ready for first grade.
Tony Williams played Origin and won a premiership, and he’s not even 30. And you’re right, we need a place for Takairangi. Edwards is one of my favourite players but letting him go does make some sense. I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened.

Where has anyone said he doesn’t want to?
Not that he doesn’t want to be here, but that he would prefer to be at one of the clubs offering him (and his manager) more money. There was a rumour about this quite recently. Could be bullshit of course, but also plausible.

There would have to be f**king monumental reasons for giving up almost any player for Hayne, let alone 2. However with Normzie and Kenny E those types of reasons are entirely plausible. But as I replied to Barry giving up Normz means we're back to one kicker unless King is our lead hooker and even then his kicking is nowhere near Normzie's.

Absolute ludicrous what is being spoken about here, shipping Norman who wasn’t at 100% all year and Edwards our best edge forward to accomodate Hayne at 6? Gotta be having a laugh surely.

Hayne as a winger or centre for 550k a year or he can f**k off, he should not be anywhere near running our team we have Norman and Moses for that who are only gonna get better.

I trust BA and his judgement surely he knows better then to bring the Hayne circus to Parra and as a 6.

I am all for him coming back as a winger or centre but that is it, if it fails after one year we are back looking for a half again FFS.

Talk about Hayne taking a payout is very exaggerated. He will take a little bit not to the extent as indicated in the media.

So this is what I’m hearing. Hayne to return and play 6. Norman to the Titans and one of our backrowers. I’d say it’s Edwards. Makes sense seeing we are throwing a lifeline to Tony Williams.

Norman is on the nose. No pun intended.

The arrival of Moses has confirmed what most of us knew. Norman is erratic and Moses is the premier playmaker.

I actually fully endorse the above proposal. We need him now if Norman is used as a swap deal.
Thats f**ked if true. Hayne isn't a 5/8's coight.

The more I think about it, the more I just can't see any truth to it.

Why would all the rumours be about a "cut price, take it or leave it" deal if we were moving on two of our best players to fit him in?

That's before you consider why BA would shop around Norman, whom he has consistently backed, to sign a fullback who, whilst a quality playmaker in the right situation, is still an outside back. It's not his MO as a coach tbh.

And he has shouted Kenny's praises all season. Doesn't make a lick of sense that he would want to move him on for Hayne.

That’s right. You can’t overlook Norman’s off field form. Same for Edwards.

What are the odds of a scandal big enough to move both players on escaping the press? Especially given the club is a favourite target and they both have form?

I think people have remembered Witchy's (likely made up like all the rest) "rumour" about Norman and put two and two together to come up with 7, personally.

Agreed, the merkin should be coming here on our terms or not at all.

Hayne has shown time and time again he is not a 6.

Hayne can play 6. When he chimed into the backline from FB (circa 2009/10/11/12/13) he was the best 6 around. He showed that he can play both left and right and had a turn of pace and a lovely pass. Throw in a decent kicking game as well.

If he wants to play 6 in 2018 then he'll have no time to hide when he's puffed and will need to aim up defensively for 80 mins.

Is he capable - of course. Is he willing to work hard enough to pull it off - dunno, that's the $64 question.

The only way I would be ok with losing Norman to gain Hayne would be in the instance that Norman was sacked for disciplinary reasons, and that would have to come prior to the signing of Hayne for it not to look like a complete joke and circus.

I struggle to see how a major discipline breach from our marquee player at our club could somehow have avoided media attention, which makes me believe it’s just rumour.

It doesn’t have to be a scandal that big. Just behaviour confirming a trend toward a possible scandal that the club might be interested in avoiding.

Ummmmm No.

There is a difference chiming in when needed from fullback after bludging for half the game and playing full time in the halves. Twice as much defence for starters let alone leading the attack around and much more kicking .

If this is all true BA has seriously lost the plot. If Norman has to go they should of had a bigger crack at Cronk.

Considering Edwards / Norman's past form, if they had stuffed up again, we could probably just terminate their contract and chase Hayne on our terms!!

Rather then taking Hayne at an over inflated price !!!
