Hayne quits NRL for NFL

Well to me he certainly comes across that way... Still wish him well over there. It's a pretty ballsy move.

Only thing I question is the timing. Why join up with the Kangaroos then quit? Leaves them in the lurch. Perhaps he was waiting for an unofficial confirmation of a trial.

Good on him. I hope he makes it.. Worst case is he is back at Parra in 18 months

If he makes it at a significant level it will be a story on a par with Beau Jackson. Hope he does. Might have a better chance at a lower performing club.

Love this bit

While the NRL is most commonly shown on broadcast TV in standard definition, on delay, with a boorish boys club commentary team more concerned with playful banter than the game itself, the NFL is beamed into the homes and phones of a younger generation live and in crisp HD, by a team of independent analysts who focus in on teams' every moves.

Get that up yer nein...

I really hope he kills it.
Ever since he scored that try to knock the dragons out of the finals I have liked him.

I say good on him for taking up the new challenge, I guess he's made enough $$s in league and doesn't see Parramatta as being in contention for a premiership during his playing life.

And as others have said, Parramatta have the biggest challenge to readjust to life without him, like we've had to without Carney.

Hmmm - if he goes OK in the NFL, he will make heaps more $$$ than he has made in the NRL...

In awe, watching the threatening "attempts of tackle" by the gifted Ayshford in Haynes repeatedly aired highlights reel.

If the Seahawks dig a little deeper & view Ayshfords "highlights" reel, Haynes asking price might be equal to a carton of KB.

The only position that Hayne would be suited for would be a kick and punt returner. Would still make more money playing in the NFL in this position than he would in the NRL. Especially if he scores tds.

Nothing like bo Jackson lol

You think Hayne is a freak, Bo is possibly the greatest athlete of all sports of all time, if it weren't for injury he would've possibly been the greatest or too 5 plYers if all time in the nfl, and up there also in pro baseball, now that guy was a freak.

FMD NFL is shit. For sure it's built up to have entertainment value. But it's over analysed one out crap. Specialised to the point of ridiculousness. At least my 12 y.o. recognises this. He told me at least in footy he gets to do it all. Macdonalds, Soccer, NFL. Biggest brands, biggest hype.

100%.

Got interested in NFL watching highlights shows. Saw a live game, barely watched since. Utter garbage. Only beaten by live Baseball in the boring stakes.

Walked out of the Baseball Gold Medal game at the Sydney Olympics. Don't let anyone say cricket is boring until you watch baseball.

Basketball is the best. But that is formulaic too.

The truth is the very predictive nature of NFL is Hayne' biggest obstacle. Agree all big brands are over hyped. Soccer can be good on my its day, NFL and Baseball not.

Even the Super Bowl is dross. Has about an hour half time. Longest passage of play is about 30 seconds.

You have gotta believe Hayne is hoping for the big bucks. Hope he pulls it off.

NFL might be better for non yanks, if kept players on all the time. How many in a team ? 50? Crap. Doesnt even look that skilful. QB apart, who does much creative?

Not that skillful? You've got Olympians who can't get a gig
