Jarryd Hayne set to sign new four-year $2m deal with the Eels

September 24, 2009 The manager of Parramatta's superstar fullback Jarryd Hayne has agreed for his star player to sign a new $2 million contract with the Eels.
In massive boost for the club on the eve of tomorrow nights blockbuster against the Bulldogs, The Dally M champion's agent agreed to terms for a four-year deal this morning.

After weeks of negotiations, Haynes manager Wayne Beavis struck the deal with Parramatta CEO Paul Osborne at a 10am meeting.

Rivals clubs, including the Sydney Roosters, were prepared to pay up to $500,000-a-season to entice him away from Parramatta.

A Parramatta source said: "Jarryd didn't want to go anywhere he loves Parramatta.

"It was just a matter of coming up with the right deal. Were expecting hell sign next week but doesn't want interruptions before the game."

The Eels are expected to hold a press conference early next week to confirm the signing.

yeah i'd rather spend it on weyman

bwhaahahaahahahahahahaahh
weyman wouldnt be anywhere near half of that, and yet the same as hayne an representative player,

unlike the bulldogs the dragons dont need ot offer player 3 times what they are worth to to go there

like kimmorely, and company

Gaba, if you don't mind me asking how old are you? i only ask because i've been trying to work out if it's because you're very young or that you're just a bit slow given the geniused sh*t you type time and time again.

If the Fagons had $500k guarantee'd they would have been after him.

He's a match winner...you know the same one that dominated your lot.

One of the very few players who would actually be worth $500k a season. He was able to terrorise the QLD backline in an average NSW side, he has been the Eels best player all season and is still only young with his best years ahead of him.

Congratulations to the Eels.

After players sign these long-term high dollar contracts they tend to go back into their shell. Terry Campese is a perfect example of this, he hasn't been half of what he was in the back end of 2008 this year.

I hope this doesn't happen to Hayne, because he is great to watch, but odds are it could happen.

Weyman = Hayne ??
Hayne had only played 3 good games against strong opposition , state of origin

and in the other games, he had played majority against teams who cant defend

Weyman has been consistant all year against tougher opposition

so you cant compare them, except they are both representative players

i would rather a player who plays through out the year, then a player like hayne who had only 3 good games , then been lucky his side has a good easy draw

And...well...different positions?
So I guess the Dragons can't defend? Thanks for the confirmation.

where was hayne when the dragons beat them 37-0
,
majority of times hayne plays good when the competition isnt at thier best, like i said the easy draw what the eels had at the end of year overrated hayne

I'd love him at my club but I'd hate to see Para lose their star even though I hate them.

The NRL should step in here so he can stay at Parra and let them still keep a decent team on the field

What about the defence of the Dragons when he buggered them up in the Qualifying Final?

You're a bloody one track mind, trying the "easy draw" two years in a row. Getting old Gaba, getting old.

Exactly. Players on that much coin tend to forget they have to play.

truth hurts you i see

you cant tell me the dragons played at the same intensity the week earlier, and you have proved my point , hayne only shines when the opposition isnt playing to thier potential

hayne did try the week when the dragons had thier intensity up , but couldnt do much

So beating the Storm, Bulldogs, Tigers, Panthers, Knights, Warriors, Sharks and Dragons along with the Titans = easy draw.

That is teams that finished 1,2,3,4,7,9,10

Wow Gaba you are bonafide idiot!
