Are you serious dude?

Like i said everyone has a role in the team. There are only 4 or 5 genuine match winners in the comp though, and Hayne is one. He is on another level.

That doesnt take anything away from what the other guys are doing as everyone is doing their job. The others help Hayne thrive no doubt, but he has the talent to capitalise on their hard work. How were we going when Burt was fullback?

Hayne has bought a new level of confidence to the WHOLE side.

Great post, exactly right.

We were playing a totally different style.

Cayless hadn't started playing ball yet and that was the catalyst for our other forwards playing ball and this has been the catalyst for our change in form - not HaHa.

So the question is totally irrelevant.

So you dont think Hayne has bought a confidence to the whole side?

You dont think the attention Hayne gets opens up the game for other players?

for eg, Mortimer + Robson can just concentrate on doing the simple things right coz Hayne can turn it on and take the pressure off them. Burt can get away with making 3 runs and 2 tackles because hayne does the grub hitups from the back...and so on.

its like u just wanna argue he's not the most important player in the team for the sake of arguing it. With the way everyones playing at the moment we lose something if anyone is out, they all contribute. Hayne doesn't play we lack a genuine game winner. No point arguing it.

Yes I do. I don't, however, think she is the only one and I don't think that we'd be unable to win without her.

Haha, no.

HaHa doesn't even come close to taking the pressure of the likes of Mortimer. Morts and Robbo have to run every set of six regardless of what HaHa is doing. Burt does a helluva lot more than HaHa did when she was in that position - not just wing play but also working as the second fullback.

With the way everyones playing at the moment we lose something if anyone is out, they all contribute.

Exactly, and HaHa isn't one of the players that is going to stop us from winning if they are out.

We've been lucky that the two teams we've played with Cayless out are two of the bottom three teams in the competition. We've had to shut down our play a bit because he is out. Look at the way we played against the likes of the Dogs, Storm etc. We'll need to play like that - and not like we have the last two weeks - in order to go anywhere in the finals.

Cayless is the most important player in our team and the most important to our continued success. As I just said above, he was the first one to start the expansive, exciting play that has seen us change our fortunes and he is coming back just in time for us to square up against more difficult teams again.

She won't. Our new style of play that has been successful relies on a group of forwards who are playing ball. It relies on running multiple bodies at the line that can keep the defensive line spread and thus offer opportunities for breaks (Burt and HaHa last weekend) as well as for offloads, second phase play and forwards playing on before the line.

This is the only reason we were able to take on and defeat the heavyweights a few weeks ago and it's the only way we'll be able to make a dent come September.

Why, when I keep getting replies like yours?

You can't blame a fisherman for continuing to cast lines when he keeps getting bites, can you?

Anyone that says Hayne wasn't awesome in the game against the warriors and pretty much every game for the last 3 months is kidding themselves. He makes more metres than any other player in the team, has scored the most tries, has the most try assists, most runs, most tackle busts, is 3rd for most kicks and yes, has made the most errors. Of course, when you are as involved as he is you will make more errors, just as Andrew Johns did and Jonathon Thurston does. However, he has just 3 more than Luke Burt, who has made less than half the runs Hayne has.

As soon as there is some hype about a player, there’s always someone that wants to say they know better, he’s overrated, blah, blah blah.

I can’t remember the last time I saw a player have this much positive influence on games week in, week out.

Maybe his game wasn’t a 10 against the Warriors, but if someone else had that game, everyone would be blown away. It’s just that we expect it from Hayne now. I’m not having a go at Burt either, he’s in career best form in my opinion.

The hype thing works both ways. Players that aren’t hyped up also get undue praise just because they were solid, doing their job and didn’t stuff up. And players that are hyped up are scrutinised more. Just wait until Hayne has a shocker. He will at some stage, but hopefully not before the end of the year.

Hindmarsh has suffered from the same thing for about 8 years. Hasn't had a bad game imo in those 8 years. Even last year where he was quiet he was still head and shoulders above pretty much the whole team.

The difference with Hindmarsh is that he plays a different role and his talents are in different places than Haynes and not as marketable.

A team with an in form Hindmarsh and Hayne is going to be as dangerous as we are at the moment, then add Fuifui to the mix.......

Hayne could have been given a 10 for a few games this year so i guess who ever judges probably thought that they missed the other games so they would give it to him for the Warriors game cause he was still completely dominating!

Hayne could lead us to a premiership this year if the team follows him.......i am just waiting for them to stop following as they have stopped following at other times in the past :(

I still think Thurston will win the Dally M Player of the Year - with Hayne an outsider. I certainly wouldnt be taking any short odds on Hayne winning it.

Fullback of the year - he will win, without doubt.

I would consider taking the short odds on Hindy winning, the Provan-Summons medal again. :D

I don't think so, Tim.
Jamie Soward. ;-)

Are you implying he will actually turn up?

I turn up all the time. It's just that I don't make sure I sit with the cool in-crowd in order to be seen so that people on the internet can say that I've been to games.

Don't worry, I'm sure that the 5 minutes you've actually been going to games will come up soon.
