Agreed. Not as good as some of their earlier work, but a bloody good black metal album imo.

SOAD? They're somewhere between pop rock and hard rock imo. Pop-hard rock.

They have no defining metal elements.

Another crucial, classic metal elements is the drumming - a lot of bands use the (excuse my lack of terminology as I am but a metal purist with no actual musical ability of my own) the foot drums to create the beatblasting you hear a lot. Certainly not a part of rock or punk or pop rock.

There's a band called Sodomy ?

You'd have to think twice about accepting a back stage pass.

Never heard of them. Sodom are a well known band though, I think the author added the y for lulz.

I definitely still dig the whole glam rock era. I was just havin a laugh at how the pic had them all sectioned off like there was a band name formula.

I recently watched a documentary about the evolution of metal during that whole 80s era and it was great. They were saying that every band during that era had to have a power ballad as thier second single after Motley Crue pulled it off. Funny, but true.
