Moved seats this year to halfway line in the KTS, and as per usual, stood to cheer whilst a try was happening, an older lady rapped me in the back the thr RL Weekly and told me to sit down. I was pretty pi$$ED off cause i figure i can stay at home and sit down to watch the game. Whats the rules , or thoughts on the matter?
BTW, i did stay down for the rest of the game, not happy

Imo the etiquette is you are allowed to stand up and applaud a try or what you think is going to be a try as long as you resume your seat within a good amount of time. Most of the time you will not be blocking the persons behind you view anyway because they should be looking to the side not directly in front of them when a try is being scored... and if she is that desperate she could even half stand up herself. But the thing is her view wouldn't be blocked anyway, so...

bottom line mate, stand up and applaud when they are at either end whenever you want.... even if you are on a far end and it is the only way to look, she can work around you.

I was born in Tamworth btw lol

just keep doing what your doing and let her whinge and carry on like a pork chop, if she he hits you make formal complaint to security or else just ignore her.

Its a pity you cant know the demographic of people you are going to be sittin around when you buy your Season Tickets. Im one for jumping up if the boys make a break. Then again, most of the people around me also do. If I dont jump up, sure, im inconvenience for a minute or two, but I'll either look up to the big screen, or, get over it.

I actually sat in a new seat myself last night. It was basically just a seat in front of last years, but half way thru the game, and after alot of swearing from me, I kinda realised that there was someone in front of me (last year it was my own mates so they wouldnt have cared about my language). I looked to PG and said "this woman must be so sick of me by now". Lisa pointed out that she had sports ears in... FREE RANGE!!!

Keep on doing what you do. So long as you are not always standing, she has no arguement. It isn't your prob.

Tbh I'd say do what you like, you paid to see the game and should enjoy it, its not anything outlandish you are doing. But I personally HATE it when people stand up because it always blocks my view of things, and they do it when there is a break or a potential try so I cant see wtf is going on! Its a chain reaction, one person stands up for the excitement of it, then the bloke next to them, then the people behind them, then everyone is, I mean, if everyone just stayed seated everyone would be able to see. Fair game after the try is awarded but not during play, but like I said go for your life mate, I would never tell anyone off for that.

I'm not sure if I saw this exactly what happened, but on the north hill, I saw one of the Raiders Army guys seem to get escorted out the back because he was leading their group of people in a bit of yelling. Nothing offensive, just Raiders cheering! Now, there was a group of people standing up, but they had nothing behind them apart from (old, broken, paint-peeling, crap) signs that you could see anyway... I'm just wondering what's it coming to when you can't even stand up in a group that's obviously just cheering on your team? There were parra supporters around who were off their tits and yelling definitely more obscenities, that were told to shut up, not get out...

Just my 5c.

I remember my last year on the Nth Tce they wouldnt let us stand in front of the back billboards. Um hello.. Billboards are there for advertising and if you have a group of cheering fans standing in front of those billboards, the camera's will pan to them more often, hence more advertising coverage. Is that just too simple for some??

From the bits of tv footage I've seen, it looked like the boards were well within seeing range... :| what I was getting at was that it was one guy for leading a bit of yelling - funnily enough, by the middle of the 2nd half, they were standing (and mostly yelling) the whole time, and the cops/security did nothing about it!
