All the calls were fine with the first Panther try being questionable. Manly were really strange in the ruck tonight. Lots of hanging on etc. I think they were just trying too hard which isn't a bad thing. They clearly have the right mental attitude of wanting to win.
Number of penalties doesn't equal a bad game by the refs. The need people have for the count to be even makes for B.S evening up penalties etc.
Yeah, they were "on notice" from around the 25 minute mark. No binnings though. 2 of the penalties were for back chat. 5 or 6 were ruck infringements straight off the back of a penalty so just another number as opposed to any real advantage to Penrith. The DWZ try was a tough call against Manly & I'd be pissed if it went the other way. Their last try was off a grid iron pass, so it was squared up. I think the DWZ dissallowed try was bullshit, the pickup from CHN was back, but they usually gt called knock ons, so I can live with the decision.Didn't really see the game but to me he is a terrible ref and if he didn't play wouldn't be in first grade.
If a team really infringes 14 times a game surely someone has to go to the bin? Did he even do the mandatory 'you know what will happen' ?
Honestly, if the shoe was on the other foot OP, you'd be blowing up deluxe. Not saying Manly would have won, but 14-4 is a farce and never gave us a real chance. Manly did try to slow the ruck down and deserved SOME of those penalties, but at least 6 or 7 of them were either expertly milked and/or just plain rediculous.
The try they gave to a panther that took the ball off a teammate whilst IN FRONT of him, was pathetic. Cant believe the bunker didnt overturn it.
Robbed of an intriguing battle.

Of course I would but I'm over emotional about my team. Manly were warned and kept doing the exact same thing. It wasn't even 50/50, it was really blatant. They were trying to push their luck for some weird reason. I mentioned the try in the comment you quoted.
Didnt realise you were referring to that try. First try was tamou under the posts?...
Im just as emotional about my team and I agree, some penalties were blatant and correctly penalised. However, penrith also got a few 50/50s and ALOT of bs penalties and at times it was like Perenara was playing 2 different sets of rules for each team. 14-4 was ridiculous and spoiled the game. Ive seen bad refereeing performances in my time, (2013 GF was a farce!) but that was up there with the worst.
Hopefully the rematch in the last round is allowed to be an actual contest.

And Manly's first try involved a blatant shepherd.2013 was an absolute farce, how they awarded that penalty try to Lyon was criminal.

We did well to overcome all of that
Manly fans have a right to feel ripped off. Although their 2nd try was off one of the worst forward passes this year from DCE and they haven't mnetioned that.
But they still were on the receiving end mostly.
However I don't recall any Manly fan blowing up when the ref single handedly won them the game vs the Knights.
Like what you did thereManly fans think every ref should officiate like Greg Hartley
People keep mentioning the number of penalties as if a lopsided count means it was bad officiating and I just can't agree with that. What people are essentially arguing for is artificially even counts which involve B.S penalties to make it look unbiased.
