To much is made of refs, just get on with it.

We all know someone or have met someone in our lives that have been elevated beyond their station in life in regards to jobs due to various reasons. Henry Perenara...sigh. He is easily the worst ref in the competition and is not fit for NRL competition. Im amazed the guy still gets a gig...awful!!!
He's one of my favourite refs.

He makes some mistakes but I think overall he does pretty well.

There are much worse than him.

Bloke cant even count. Said last tackle on the 3rd, 4th and 5th tackle of the same set today.
And it was him that gave the 7 tackle set in the Sharks v Cowboys game a few years ago too right?
Actually, I think he's done the 7 tackle set thing twice....
I don't think that was Perenara.

Cecchin or Sutton from memory.

I could be wrong though.

Watching the first half today and I was thinking exactly the same thing, how is this dope still a first grade ref after stinking it up for years. Second half and he gives us something like 6 straight penalties and I was ready to make him the first refereeing immortal. He is average but I would rather his incompetence than the likes of Cummins, Klein or Badger who could aptly be described with 2 different words beginning with a 'C' and ending with a 'T'.

He hates the Warriors more than the kiwi commentators do.

The time he penalised James Gavet for "tackling too hard" was a sight to behold.

All refs are merkins. Perenara is just one of them.
I do feel somewhat bad for the refs. No one will like you, you'll get heckled every game and every decision you make will infuriate 50% of the fans.

These guys and gals are only human. To err is human.

I like the way Perenara talks to the players, plenty of courtesy and usually straight to the point.

He can be very loose with his interpretations at times and his policing of the ruck can be very inconsistent. Fortunately he didn't determine yesterday's result, but I get the feeling it won't be too long until he makes a real howler.

Yeah, him and Patten got a saloon passage into first grade. Absolute rort. Am i correct in saying he had his hand up early in the 1st half for the chooks indicating it was the last but it was in fact the 3rd? I over heard the commentators talking about it but I was too busy posting ref abuse and comedy gold in the match day thread to take notice.........

It certainly was. On Fox Sports Andrew Voss thought it one of the worst things he'd seen from any referee at first grade level.

All refs are either merkins or I don't notice them, depending on the penalty count given and level of intoxication of myself.

Voss also told us for about 15mins the Roosters hadn't had 6 back-to-back penalties in their 109yr history. He was at his annoying, unfunny best yesterday.

Bill Harrigan has openly said on Triple M that when he was in charge of the refs he said Perenara wouldn't make it to be an NRL standard ref. Seems he was proven right

If Bill Harrigan was in charge of the refs There's only ever been one good ref.
All the others aren't worthy.

I think Perenara is as good as any of them.Doesnt need a bagging from an ex ref of all people.Leave that to us supporters.

He was saying that very much tongue in cheek. Regarding the botched tackle count, he certainly wasn't.

I dont recall Manly being consistently bum fked by Perenara so he gets a pass mark from me.

Checcin on the other hand....I have never seen a ref so blantantly "even up" a game, so often.

Some of his displays border on something more than incompetence.
