A sleeve sponsor ain’t going to pay $700k per year. That’s $250k at most

$250K would only get you lower back. Sleeves are $500K and up. Upper back is in between. Front $850+. Roosters have obviously got a good deal. I blame slothfield for the loss. Its wasn't mainstream news until he made it!!

Why would a small sleeve sponsor be worth more than across the entire upper back.?

Exposure wise I would have thought his was the order.
Front of jersey
Upper back
Lower back
Sleeve
Assorted shorts.

Ah no

Sleeves is no2 - You see it more - both sleeves from the front and back. Based on media exposure, they are seen more than the back in advertising, photos, TV screen time etc.

Todays roosters article backs this up.
