I can't believe Price wasn't sacked. I am still stunned. Our season is dead in the water and it's only May. A year wasted.

I can't believe Laurie Daley is being considered at all. Stunned. Another few murdered seasons in the offing.

I can't believe what is happening to this club. Oust them all

Godz, I agree with your sentiments 100%

How could Daley be considered as a viable option, he might be good in origin camp but untried over 26 weeks of competition proper.

Wasn't Ricky Stuart also considered a good origin coach??? Ooh I just got a chill thinking about it!

what a totally bullsh*t article.
Bellamy has widely announced that this will be his last contract, he is looking to retire after his current contract expires..
not sure what the Dragons are "Tracking"....

"it would take a run of catastrophic results for Price to be sacked before the season's end." .. well 6 losses out of last 7 matches, on top of the previous 2 years of rubbish i think that qualifies as catastrophic??

and FFS keep Daley well away from the club, he has done nothing as a coach.

I would gladly have St Benny back... but only as a part time consultant. I imagine that he'd be starting to think about retirement from full time coaching now. As others in this post allude too, we need to move forward. Their needs to be an element of looking to the long term with the next coach.

I'd be willing to give Laurie a go as long as we had Bennett in background. If this is not possible, Henry, Sheens or Smith please.

It might not necessarily mean they'll stick with him till the end of the season no matter what, it all depends on results. I know it's soccer, but Man Utd kept on insisting and insisting they'd stick with Moyes, yet they sacked him while the season wasn't finished yet. If we keep just losing, I reckon he'll be punted before season's end.

Doubt he will be punted mid season..They should name a new coach later in the season to get the recruiting side going and put the players on notice.
Price may eventually step down if the pressure gets too much though.

Ignoring the crap about Daley, what this tells me is that the club are looking outside for a long term coachin solution, and will have this in the next couple of months. This means that its unlikely that well see Mary or Millward take the reigns for the next few years. This is a good thing. Theyce also opened up applications so hopefully we see a few coaches from overseas putting their hands up.

At least when Price gets sacked and Mary, Millward or someone else gets the interim role, they wont be permanent.

Article also says Price's contract may be extended????

I simply cant see that happening...

We all thought and hoped he would be punted last night....this Board is likely to do the most irrational things. They simply don't have the best interests of the Dragons at heart...they only have their own interests...SURVIVAL

A long bow there. How can you say "They simply don't have the best interests of the Dragons at heart...they only have their own interests...SURVIVAL"

You would be accepting of McGregor as coach for the remainder of the season? Because that's what would happen. Even the club recognises he is not suitable.
Price hangs on for the season and we recruit for 2015. It would appear the support staff and assistants will be called out on their KPI's and results.
I feel a massive broom is coming to sweep them ALL away. Don't go making ridiculous statements about them not having the club's interests at heart :sarcasm:

Hang in there boys and girls...

Mat you don't get it do you??? They had the chance at the end of last season to turn things around and conned all of us with their so called performance review. We are now in exactly the same position as this time last year, if not worse, after being told that everything would be on the up and up. They had a chance last night to try and turn this season around and once again have sat on their hands..and no McGregor was not the only option..thats you SPIN which suits your argument to let the status quo remain. The reason they didn't boot Price last night was to save face for themselves, because they made the decision at the end of last season to retain him for this year and to have gone back on that decision so early in the season would have made them look incompetent...which is exactly what they are. You obviously have some vested interest somewhere in the club...

No... I do get it but your logic dictates we just employ any old second rate coach just to get rid of Price. Price was given a 1 year contract with a second year in the clubs favour. That being, if he turned things around and results were favourable, he would be retained for a further year. He hasn't, so he won't be. We needed a coach in place for this season to sign players or they sign elsewhere....
My thoughts are, hire the best fkn coach available. We tried with Bellamy but you're happy to accept who for the remainder of the season? Who will come to us on a 6 month contract? Probably no-one. So once again, due diligence is required but you want immediate changes and results ? lol
Your conspiracy theory is just that and I have no vested interest in the club other than to see it successful. I gather you have the same thoughts but we will probably take two different paths on how to achieve it.

A very strange take on the current situation.

I think it would have been a great idea if the Board had some KPI's applied to themselves by this external consultant. The performance of the officials they have appointed has been shocking and the financial situation our Club currently finds itself in leads me to believe we could do much better if a broom was put through this usless Board.
