Ian Millward would be the solution for now in terms of getting someone from within the club as interim coach. He has a vast experience in coaching in the ESL and was quite successful until the unfortunate passing of his son. Give him the reins for the rest of the season and if all goes well offer him an extension. Too bloody easy. If all goes bad well then at least they tried and gave another bloke a go.

I think the article is more spin from the club in the wake of protest after Saturdays game. It seems to be "designed " to take the heat of Doust and the board , whilst telling the supporters to settle down as "We run the club". It won't change the attitude of the team nor Prices lack of ability. Expect more losses , dwindling game supporters and reduced merchandise revenue.
We the fans should be outraged at this latest show of disrespect for our passion for the RedV.

A very strange take on the current situation.

I think it would have been a great idea if the Board had some KPI's applied to themselves by this external consultant. The performance of the officials they have appointed has been shocking and the financial situation our Club currently finds itself in leads me to believe we could do much better if a broom was put through this usless Board.

Strange to you, although I'm not surprised. When you engage the services of a consultant, they do as you tell them to ! The review process was carried out on the Football Operations, not the Board :sarcasm:
Tell me about our financial position.... or did you read it in the Tele ?

I do agree with your last comment and the broom should be applied to all of those involved with the 1st grade team coaching staff.

Why did we need a consultant to tell us to create KPI's for the coaching staff? How inept is the board, exactly?

A long bow there. How can you say "They simply don't have the best interests of the Dragons at heart...they only have their own interests...SURVIVAL"

You would be accepting of McGregor as coach for the remainder of the season? Because that's what would happen. Even the club recognises he is not suitable.
Price hangs on for the season and we recruit for 2015. It would appear the support staff and assistants will be called out on their KPI's and results.
I feel a massive broom is coming to sweep them ALL away. Don't go making ridiculous statements about them not having the club's interests at heart :sarcasm:

Hang in there boys and girls...

How wonderfully reassuring.

I cant see how you say the board has the Dragons best interest at heart, if they did they would cauterize the wound right now.

They have done nothing for 3 years except shuffle the deckchairs around and hope the pesky supporters wouldnt notice ,it was obvious Price was a DILL in his first year. RE -SIGNING him last = total lack of judgement and totally about penny pinching .I would be interested to look at the books after this season and have a look at revenue I'm guessing it will be down a greater amount than they would've spent on a new coach.

They bought a couple of new players for too much money and make out they are geniuses.

To me they should've been shocked into having a PLAN B ready after the CHARITY SHIELD, but of course they haven't ,that was the shape of things to come.

If they are going to call the staff on KPI's do it now ,we have had enough games to establish patterns in performance, in a business you dont sit around if the joints going down the tubes, and look at it at the end of the year, you make changes immediately .

What you're saying is write off 2014 by leaving a DILL coaching and you assume that there will be coaches knocking the door down to fix the rabble , i WOULDNT BE SO SURE.

Millward needs to be brought in to finish the year, it couldnt possibly be any worse than the result of sitting on their hands, while they try to convince someone to coach us next year .

Consultant is probably a relative or friend of board member, tell em to turn on the tv every weekend and watch the game ,you dont need a degree to work out we are f..ked.

Here's hoping.

The club has appointed McGregor and Young to 'assist' Price and given them all KPI's to meet. We are nearing the mid-point of the season and it's time to review said KPI's, I can see no way they've met them and they need to go. Price can hang around till seasons end, by virtue of the fact you can't possibly replace them all mid season.

The most frustrating and sad part of all this is the fact WE DIDN'T HAVE TO BE IN THIS POSITION

You're right the whole set up is riddled with APATHY and people who want to take the easy option, the opportunity was there to make a change last year ,and nothing happened.

The fact that Price may still get another year is frightening. I honestly thought we would only have to put up with a game or 2 but the chance of another full season. That is pretty F%%eds.

But hey they reached their target of about 20,000 memberships so why change. That is their main KPI.

Ordinarily I'd say that this is zero chance of happening. But who knows anymore? We're through the looking glass here people. White is black and black is white

Welcome to 1986. Or, in fact, it's not quite so bad. We've already relived 86 and 87. So this is just 88 all over again. Except without the Amco Cup win.

There's just 89, 90 and 91 to go. And at least in 91 we had Offiah.

Between 2006 & 2013 Millard's coaching record is worse than Prices. He is doing well with a very good roster this year. I agree we should replace Price immediately but with someone from outside the club or there will just be bandaids used when we really need to amputate!

His record is a problem but he is probably the only option considering how far into the season we are ,I'm certainly not saying he should be the coach long term ,but should be used as an interim to get us to the seasons end ,could it be any worse than keeping PRICE,would give everyone some kind of hope .Millward also had a family tragedy which may explain some of his later results as he had some success earlier.
