Heres a new one, Laurie Daley to Coach Dragons

I reckon this whole Laurie Daley being considered is a smoke screen & just deflects the attention away whilst biding them some more time. Sounds like 2 different media outlets claiming that Daley is the Number 1 target, whilst the other claims Sheens in the box seat. IMO I believe they are really after Neil Henry and probably in confidential talks concerning timing/availability/support staff/ package. The Broncos are also in the picture for a new coach & Henry has strong support in QLD during his SOO years running the juggernaut with his tactics. The Dragons may want to secure him firstly on the quiet before the Broncos try to pounce and force his asking price up. Doust will want value for money & Henry ticks plenty of the right boxes. It won't be played out in the media, it will come when least expected. Fingers crossed its next week !

He fluked one in 2005 and had and absolutely sensational team in the early 90s and his teams over the last decade and a half have missed the finals more often then they did. Plus I would not consider him a long term option. Also, would prefer a coach not sacked from his last position.

Year I'd prefer a coach not sacked as well so that rules out a few but he hasnt been sacked from the Australian position albiet having a different slant than NRL, then rule out rookie coaches as well and coaches without affiliation to the Dragons and we don't have many options

Its very rare a number of quality coaches are available at anyone time as we all know. Quality coaches don't get the sack and normally get to choose who, where, how much and when they go.

There is always some risk when signing a new coach. Its what we do to mitigate the risk of failure that counts. If for example, my suggested option of Shaun Wane is signed. There is a risk even though he has been successful in the ESL, that he may not prove so in the NRL. Bringing in an experienced assistant should help mitigate that risk, eg: Robinson and Taylor.

I think we can all chill out till next February 2015, because its not till then that we might see a new coach in action for us

YEP, put a line through this season and put it down to experience again, one thing about the club they don't dissapoint in the dissapointment department.

Let's not worry about next year yet. There are more pressing issues which I feel should be addressed now. If Doust is to keep Price on for the rest of the year, my concern is how much damage can this cause, psychological or otherwise. Players like Dugan are confidence players and if we are to keep losing matches I feel this could be detrimental. Sack Price, put in an interim coach and at least show the players that there is hope for next year. There is no way we will attract any new comers to the club under this present situation. We are a club in crisis and it needs to be addressed NOW!!

We have developed a losing mentality already but we do have enough great players to change that with just 1 win. Right now we don't believe we can win at all. Coach Price has to go now!

Planning needs to be done,Price should know later in the season that he won't be in the job next year and a new coach announced around July August.

Another wasted season. Lets see if they can avoid the spoon again this season. This club has very very low expectations.

What's the point of continuing with a dead in the water coach for the rest of the season? I've never seen a St.George team look so demoralised as they have over the last 3 games - this is only going to get worse under the coaching of this clearly incompetent coach.
And even though they don't deserve it, the team is only one win outside the eight. There is still time to salvage something from this season, and time for the team to regain belief in itself. But it has to start now.

For sure lets just hope PRICE gets punted at seasons end , obviously it isn't going to happen mid-season, worrying thing as outlined above is how much of a mess things will be by then 3 months until the season proper ends, they would have to be sorting things out now behind the scenes if a change of coach is happening, a new coach wont want to work with Price's support staff i would imagine.

The club should name the new coach through this season and put all players on notice.

More worrying is that some of our top players may get disullusioned with this whole steup and start looking elsewhere..its easy to get out of contracts...
