The last time that I read anything about the reasons for it being played in
England, there were 3 main reasons given.
1) To help raise the profile for league in England
2) To give English fans a chance to see an elite NRL side live in action.
3) And because the temperature in Australia in February can be anything
up to 40 degrees or more.
(The pommies couldn't handle the weather. They would probably all
have heart attacks). lol.
Whether these are the actual reasons given by the games hierarchy in
both countries, or whether this was just some Aussie journo's slant on
the issue, I couldn't tell you.
Mainly because I can't even remember where I read it.
Does anyone else know the actual official reasons for it?
