The last time that I read anything about the reasons for it being played in
England, there were 3 main reasons given.

1) To help raise the profile for league in England

2) To give English fans a chance to see an elite NRL side live in action.

3) And because the temperature in Australia in February can be anything
up to 40 degrees or more.

(The pommies couldn't handle the weather. They would probably all
have heart attacks). lol.

Whether these are the actual reasons given by the games hierarchy in
both countries, or whether this was just some Aussie journo's slant on
the issue, I couldn't tell you.

Mainly because I can't even remember where I read it.

Does anyone else know the actual official reasons for it?

And it is helping!

2) To give English fans a chance to see an elite NRL side live in action.
You'll have your chance in a couple of years so rugby league head quaters say over here

3) And because the temperature in Australia in February can be anything

 Sounds like the Rooster supporters!!!!

Thanks MP, that all makes sense actually.

Pommie Raider ... Adrian Morley i doubt would have played a game in 40 degree heat. Besides he has been here long enough now so he is aclimatised. ;-)

Those reasons that MP raised about the WCC being in England sound pretty valid... but having said that, the time that it will be played will be the trials period down here in Australia (mid February).

And if it was to be played down here, it would be a night game, so the temperature issue would not be a real issue (however, some nights in summer just don't cool down at all).

Leeds babe stop your crying hun, maybe if you sign some good players and a decent coach then you'd get to big matches like this!
But until you do as I tell you, your never going to get your own way of been a good team.
Free tickets was so 1990's, and as for free tickets, I live in Pudsey litterally Leeds near Bradford, and my sister came home with 2 free tickets and a ronnie the rhinos half price ticket for a big match like St Helens.
At least by us giving out free tickets it gained our support.

Dont call me hun luv and as for gud playas we av the 1 and only Danny McGuire future superstar in the making and havent u heard we have got a new coach Tony Smith ring any bells . So looks like we av taken ur advise . As for free tickets yeh Leeds get free tickets like every other club does, but not as near as many as Bradford hand out . God schools in Leeds get given free tickets to attend Bradford matches

I can`t understand this logic of supporting an Aussie team that`s playing a British one .If a Brit team plays an Aussie one at any sport I support the Brits EVERY time . I bet you saddos want Man U to lose in Europe too . As for Bradford not wanting to play at the KC because of their fans having to travel on a Friday night . Why then does Caisley want to play it even further away at Old Trafford ? Nothing to do with greed is it ?

I'd support any other super league team, as long as they were not playing against Canberra.
Leeds babe, Tony Smith is rubbish, what did he do for Huddersfield accept for promote them from a easy league into a tougher compertition.
You may have MGuire, but haven't we got Reardon,Bridge and Parker?
And I'll call you anything I like, how would you know how many free tickets each club gives out, every club does it all around the world, And by the way Bradford Bulls are looking shorley it works to give free tickets out, You want to bring more money into your club and make it more sucsessful, hand free tickects out, get the people who come to the match hooked on to the game they go out and by a ticket, gee more money for our club, and a bigger supporters base!

As for the Man U part, I would never want them to win anything, Come on u mighty whites! suppose you can call it jealousy!

As a result of TonySmith, FARTOWN ARE BACK. The Claret and Gold are one again a force to be reckoned with, striking fear into the hearts of teams throughout the land. Ask Leeds, Wigan, St Helens and Hull, amongst others.

leedsbabe, the one thing TS will try to do at Headingly is to stiffen that apology for a defence and stop them posing about so much. You'll be even more boring than the Dulls. It will be grim but at least you might win something at last.

I believe reading it some where, that the match will be held on the 13th of Febuary.
And the reason I'm asking your age, is because your acting very childish and your posts are pathetic.
As for gypsy, I was born in Australia not Ireland, your just jealouse cos I support a decent club!
