The sooner this uninspiring nothing of a coach is thrown out on his f**king ear the better.

I get the feeling from that video that Hindy isn't exactly over the moon with things at Parra at the moment (and not just because we're running last).

Chris Anderson, Brian Smith, poor chasing...and...I dunno...nothing really quantifiable but just a general feeling that he doesn't really like what is happening to the Club.

I agree but can you blame him?
Put yourself in his position.

- It's his retirement season.
- We're running f**king stone motherless.
- He busts his arse every week for no reward.
- He turns up in the media every week and at press conferences to answer the same f**king questions.
- He plays besides team mates who he can physically see are not putting in the required effort as a first grader.
- To his credit, he retains his sense of humour.

No wonder he's feeling a little down though.
I'm feeling it, and I only have to watch it.

You forgot - watching his beloved Club destroyed by an incompetent coach.

i get the feeling hindy is thinking, damn i wish i had retired last year

i don't know if he has problems with how things are run, coached or anything like that - i think its just bloody difficult to get up for games with the rabble we are and he's had enough

i hope we can make the back end of the season a bit enjoyable for him

I would think having a chat with teh most senior player about changing the way football operations are run would be quite common

they don't have to ask for his approval - just run it by him, explain what the purpose is and ask his opinion

Thanks Strides. Kearney keeps talking about changing the culture. It would be prudent to ask a respected player and your captain who has been part of the culture since 1997 about any future appointments. Ray Price is being consulted why not Hindmarsh?

Nah. That's a terrible idea and a bad way of being 'professional'!

I don't think it's a good idea to ask the players (or even consult them) when it comes to running the show. If someone doesn't know enough about how to run a footy club that they start taking tips off the players - well, let's just say they're in bad shape!

This is a nothing issue (the not telling Hindmarsh). Stop making it bigger than it is! No other club would give players input into coaching positions of any kind, why should ours? Just because we're last? Just because we think our coach has no idea?
That may be the case, and if so they should fire him, not consult with the players about coaching consultants.

I couldn't think of anything better than to achieve that for Hindy.
I know Kearney is Chief Motivator, but you'd think his team mates would be able to get up for him, surely? Rugby League is such a curiously confusing mental sport. I suppose they all are.

It doesn't even have to be consulting him but if the captain of a team doesn't know the role of a member of the coaching staff then it's a problem. Sure if Kearney said he just used Anderson to run things by in no official capacity then it wouldn't be an issue if Hindy didn't know but he is an official part or the coaching staff so the whole team should be aware of his role

Maybe SK should learn how to SMS like the great Brian Smith?

He's not even been there a week. I'm sure the players will become aware of the details of Anderson's role in the coming weeks.

From what Hindy said, all that we can be sure of is that Anderson doesn't have much to do with the players. In that case there isn't much need for him to know exactly what Anderson does.

It's silly that Kearney needs someone to hold his hand. If he can't get some wins over the next month I'd say he's got to go. Ando can take over until we get someone to do the job.

Or he turned up on friday and spent the day finding out where the dunnies are, the coffee machine, his desk and the defibrillators are? Saturday was game day?

Even the great Wayne bennett used the services of Ron Massey as a sounding board / mentor

it may just be that there hadn't been enough time for Kearney to let everyone know of the changes but when you look at the team perform on the field it looks like half of the guys don't know each others names so it's easy to see this as just another communication issue we have whether it be right or wrong

I'm agreeing with this theory.

People have been reading too many of Casper's posts and are reading into things to ridiculous levels.

Next thing we'll be getting reports on the end of the world based on the angle of Hindy's crack.

To some Eels fans, being in a battle for the wooden spoon two seasons in a row (as it appears we will be) IS close to the end of the world. The only thing closer is having to do it three years running...

Sure.

But if said member of coaching staff started a day or 2 before a game, then one might not be surprised the players haven't been told what was going on.

That, however, is a totally different issue to the one I was discussing. I'm simply saying that there's no need to consult ANY member of the playing group regarding coaching decisions. If we do, then we're Z-grade.
