Because rumours and speculation about fans burning jerseys (which IIRC correctly, in a public place, classifies as unlawful damage) really bodes well as an image for the entire game doesn't it?
It might be an offence against the Fire Act or something similar but it ain't Wilful Damage (or its NSW equivalent) if they're burning their own jerseys, only if they're burning someone else's without their consent

I was thinking more about the fact that it was on Fox Studios land and has the potential to damage some of their property. Either way if people were burning jerseys, surely they would have been spotted by someone from the media and suitably crucified?

Actually I only responded to Rocco's post because his use of language was pretty bloody funny.

To be fair though, the way the media are - you would expect incidents of Bulldogs supporters burning their own supporters gear to be front page news...

I thought it was pretty clear I'm happy with Telstra.

We have the opportunity to have the same as Cronulla at Belmore... we don't have it because Belmore is a substandard ground.

FTR, I've never needed binocs to see the players.

So without actually saying it you admit the setup at Cronulla (especially after the new stand is built and other improvements are completed) is the envy of all other clubs? Why not just come out and say it?

Oh is that some sort of cryptic criticism and if so feel free to list the shortcomings at Shark Park eelavation. Especially after the new stand etc are completed.

Got to love teenage Shire rats running around Shark Park pissed, between that and listening the power lines buzz when they get some water on them.

There was a problem with drunken youths about six years ago but breath testing was introduced and quickly weeded out the pissed dickheads.

Are you saying this sort of thing never happened/happens at the ground you frequent?

In all honesty not to the extent it seems to happen at Shark Park, or prehaps we are just generally unlucky and it is only when Parramatta play there.

So your 'observations' are based on the occasions the eels have played there. Assuming you have attended each eels game at shark park over the past five years are we talking five games? If so you will have noticed breath testing taking place as you enter the ground. This has resulted in the pissed 'shire kids' being refused entry and a decrease in unruly behaviour. Are you denying this?

 The implication was that Belmore and Toyota are both substandard you flipdick. I've been there and it's one of the crappiest ground I've been at. The only thing good about gameday is that the Sharks can put on a good show. On-field and around the ground it's sh*thouse.

I have never recalled being breath tested upon entry to Telstra, nor do I think I've ever seen it. ;-)

Who gets breath tested?
I didnt go last year, but was at Sharky pk in '05 and saw no breath testing.

I get my bag searched entering a ground, but breath testings a bit over the top imo.

Whats the limit?

"Oh-ooh, ur .05 mate, off you go like a good lad, dont be causing no trouble now, y'hear"

Poor old Timmah can't have a reasonable discussion without resorting to name calling as usual.

Never heard of 'random breath testing' inky? Obviously the security use the breath testing caper as a stategy to deter the wankers from coming near the joint. If a kid approaches them and appears intoxicated they whip out the breath testing gadget. Simple.

You are the pathetic one Timmah with your name calling. Just admit it for once.

Now for your 'point'.

We are the only club who actually owns their home ground. Let that sink in and then consider our Club House is part of the whole complex and actually forms the eastern stand. That means you can have a meal or a dink before the game in comfort, attend the game and watch the Sharks smash the dogs, then walk a couple of metres back to the club and get into the party atmosphere that always ensues. If you like the idea of Telstra thats fine. Personally 10 to 15k in a huge stadium built for 85k just doesn't sound right.

Party atmosphere? Like the last 10 games of the 2006 season?

End of the day.... I have no complaints with Telstra, with our home crowd averages, with the facilities, or the atmosphere. ;-)
